Swimming and Writing - Two Different Things That Have To Happen Today

Back to the swimming pool again today and I've got a story due tomorrow with three different drafts in process. I'm not happy with any of them. When I write, I need the words to sing to me. I've got two different themes in hand, and neither have managed to do more than a nursery rhyme - far from the opera I need to stay in the competition. I'm a bit frustrated, but I'll pull something out. It's just going to be a PITA.

Sometimes writing to a theme is a royal PITA, but it's
my job to grab a promising tendril of plot and whip
it into a storyline of consequence. We'll see if I manage
to pull that off this time.

I'm glad I'm working with Chickie today. I can usually get some computer work done on my own when she's working the sales floor. When I'm working with DH, he's usually in the back room and I'm the sole person on the sales floor. That leads to a lot of work with customers on my end, and very little work at all (except for book work) on his end. He rarely interacts with customers, and only helps pull product for them at his own convenience, not ours. It's frustrating, and only helpful in that neither Chickie nor I are involved in the financial aspect of the store past the point of accepting payment and making change when necessary.

I like it when I get an Etsy sale, especially one where
they're taking advantage of our excellent pricing
and buying in bulk. But it's also a bit of a PITA
because it's still a new procedure for us, and getting
the invoicing right and the sale pulled through the
computer system is a challenge.

I also had a nice Etsy sale over the weekend, so I needed to get the items packed, sold, and invoiced so that I could sent the box on its' way this morning. Etsy sales are handled differently than my standard sales, they're still run through the store because the inventory is from the store, but how they are processed is different. It's still rather new to me, so I'm still stumbling when I get an Etsy sale. Still, it's a relief to get one that actually had some substance.

I love listening to audio books while I exercise. I've
tried music in the past but it just doesn't hold my
interest as well as a good plot with characters that
I care about. I'm always looking forward to the
next "pages" of my current book.

I'm off to the swimming pool today, and I should be approaching the end of my audio book too. I hope to finish it today so that I can load the next one in the series tonight. This small group n the larger saga was four books, the next one will be three (a more standard measure for this author and this series). It's been wonderful to dive back into this world once again and I'm pleased that I still have a lot of volumes still to listen to. It will take me through the end of the year and into next.

Swimming laps can be mind-numbing, but when I listen
to a book, I'm just visualizing the action of the storyline,
not the boredom that laps can be. All in all, once I started
listening to books instead of music while I exercised, my
exercise sessions were MUCH more effective for me.

So, I'm out of here. The pool is calling. Have an excellent Tuesday and I'll be back tomorrow for the first of the final three days off before Sharon arrives. Slava Ukraini.
