I'm Hitting the Ground Running Today - Swimming, Work and a Late Snow

I've hit the ground running today. What's the old cartoon characters always mumbling? "Busy, busy, busy..." (For those who may not remember, it's Professor Hinkle from "Frosty the Snowman". We've got good days for a snowman, and I think we'll drop slightly below freezing today. We're supposed to get a very fast but intense snowstorm coming through the Cities today - of course, it's scheduled to start this short but hard snow right when most people will be starting their commute home. Treacherous roads could be in my future today *sigh*.

I always remember Professor Hinkle's constantly saying
"Busy, busy, busy!" in the animated cartoon "Frosty
the Snowman". There are too many times when we are
saying that to ourselves. We sometimes need to
back off a bit, slow down a little, and simply enjoy
the journey.

I didn't get anything done on my Etsy posts yesterday. In fact, I was so busy I didn't even get a chance to turn on the Olympics until after 4:00 pm. It was just one of those days, but at the end of the day I was pleased - I did get quite a lot done, so that was a plus. I fell asleep immediately, though, so I was quite obviously exhausted.

I don't think I have ever duplicated a recipe for my
Ogre Juice (Alkagizer). I haven't used asparagus,
but I've certainly used the remaining vegetables
pictured around the glass. I always just choose what
looks good and fresh. I do have a few staples - a
jalapeno pepper, usually at least a green pepper,
lots of kale, red cabbage and green cabbage, and
often a cucumber. But everything is always up
for grabs. Variety is important, and I'm always
changing up my recipe.

I did get my four Ogre Juices made. I have to transfer a couple of them to my transport glasses when I get home from the pool. I'm too busy trying to get my blog written after my morning meditation to be able to get that done before I leave for the gym. I certainly could have transferred it yesterday, but decided to let them cool down and meld the flavors overnight in the larger portion-sized containers I use, instead.

This is Shawn White's fifth Olympics. He's 35 years old
now, and that means I've been watching him on snowboard
since he was 15 years old. He's retiring from competition
after this year, and even though he had trouble with
his first qualifying run, he did enough with his second
run to get into the finals. Three Japanese snowboarders
who get amazing air, are his top competitors. It should
be fun to watch.

I'm pretty sure DH was up quite late watching the half-pipe snowboarding as well as the women's curling. I was going to watch "Forged in Fire", but since it wasn't on, I also watched the Olympics while cleaning up my blog and answering emails and comments.

I'm not sure how the women's curling competition is
going - I barely caught it yesterday, although DH was
watching it when I went to sleep. I'll have to check up
on it today.

A friend was asking about the rules for curling.
I did find this article that might help.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/beijing/2022/02/02/olympics-curling-competition-participants-dates-format/9243549002/

No guarantees, but there are links for more in-depth
rules as well as a brush over the standard ones.

Since today will be a busy day, starting with the swimming pool in a little more than an hour, I'm signing off here and heading towards my next task. I hope you have a wonderful day and please, be kind to others. You never know how that one bright spot of kindness can lift someone else from their inner darkness. I'll be back tomorrow.
