Swimming On My Brain and New "Toys" and Stuff - Life Continues

Today is going to be another busy one. I'll be doing some grocery shopping and making my next batch of "Ogre Juice" (actually, the official moniker is "Alkagizer", but DH calls my daily veggie smoothies "Ogre Juice" because of the color). I make it up in batches of four on Wednesday and Friday, and have managed to cut my prep time from 2-1/2 hours down to approximately 1 hour, sometimes a bit more if more cut-up and wash time is involved with the veggies. I really love my Ogre Juice. The few times when I've run short and had to miss a day really bother me, so I'm getting the next batch done today, no matter what.

I love my daily Alkagizer. It gives me the nutrition
that I might not get in my daily food choices, and I just
am so accustomed to it by now, I can't imagine being without
it. Friends who travel have even traveled with their
blenders, or had their hotels make Ogre Juice for them
every morning for breakfast. It can be done!

I also have to make sure that my MP3 songs actually are playable on my waterproof bone induction headphones. I've got a set of Finis Duos I purchased more than a year ago, and I never had the chance to actually use them in the swimming pool. So yesterday I cracked the case open, charged them up, got a playlist assembled and moved to an MP3 format, and loaded them on. I have now charged everything for the "charge your system for 24 hours first before using it" instructions, so I think I'm ready to go. ... at least I hope so. I'll be testing them tonight. I do have to buy some molding silicone ear plugs at my local Dick's Sporting Goods store. Fortunately, that is quite close to home, so not much of a trip.

I have a Finis Duo bone conduction headphone set that
I purchased last year. I think it will work OK, but I also
have ordered one of the AfterShokz (next photo).
I go through headphones in the pool like crazy. Chlorine
and heavy swims are not friendly to equipment.

I'm still thinking about the fold-able table for my knitting machine. I'm really unwilling to bring another piece of anything into the house unless necessary, and DH has been a bit prickly lately, so I haven't been able to sound him out about it. I'll have to make up my mind soon. I want to get my machine set up again and I have two sweaters in mind for my winter.

I ordered one of the higher-end sets of the AfterShokz
Xtrainer wireless headsets from Amazon last night. I
read through more than 50 reviews, almost all of them
4.5 to 5 star, and this one will also accept formats that
include my audio books - a very important thing for me.
I'm hopeful that both systems, the Finis and the
AfterShokz will work well for my swimming time.

I received a package delivery yesterday that I had completely forgotten about, and I'm quite pleased. I had seen an advertisement about a pair of very flexible cold-weather gloves that were actually waterproof (like, dunk them in a tank of water and they stay dry!). My winter gloves always start out dry, but when I'm shoveling the driveway or working on getting my car brushed off after a snowfall, they get wet quickly and my hands freeze. I now will keep a set in my car, and a second set in the pockets of my coat for winter. They look sturdy, and fit better than I had hoped (I have short fingers - nothing really fits me properly). Suddenly winter is looking a bit warmer - LOL.

I ordered two sets of these gloves from B-Forest
(called their "Winds Gloves") and they arrived
yesterday. They actually fit quite well, and I
hope they'll help keep my hands warmer this
winter. I have one set in this delightful orange
(which should clash nicely with my purple
parka), and another set in basic black. I guess
I'm almost ready for winter ... NOT!!

So I'll try on my swimsuit today and get my duffle or backpack ready to go for Monday morning. I'll make my grocery and sporting goods stops, try on my suit, make sure everything is ready, and I'll be one step closer to a successful schedule change on Monday. I can hardly wait. I guess I'd better get my swim lane reservation made pretty soon. I'll check that out today also. Have a truly excellent Friday and I'll be back tomorrow.
