I'm Back! A Short "Hi"

I'm back! This is just a short post to let all of you know that I survived the "Great Minnesota Get-Together" and my miles and miles of walking with my BFF, Sharon. I promise I'll be back with more information and Fair photos tomorrow. I promise!

Even though "CrabFest" was going on at Red Lobster, I chose the Cajun-spiced
grilled salmon with squash medley and fresh broccoli for my meal. It was
really delicious, a spicy sauce with small shrimp in in at well. I also
indulged in a six-piece shrimp cocktail. A "good" food choice - LOL.

Sharon arrived promptly at  around 3:30 pm on Thursday the 31st and after dropping her stuff off at the house we decided to go to dinner - the first toe into the food indulgence that would exist for the next five days. We ate Fair food on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We ate at the Renaissance Festival on Monday and we ate out at Red Lobster Sea Food restaurant on Thursday night, Outback Steakhouse on Friday night and at Olive Garden Italian Restaurant on Monday night. Saturday and Sunday we totally pigged out at the Fair. Ooof! Too much food!

I was starting my "vacation" out at a low weight, and was determined to not gain overmuch, so when I stepped on the scale today and saw I had only gained three pounds for 4-1/2 days of overindulgence, I was quite happy. Now I can start losing those three pounds and continuing my exercise regime. I haven't been in the pool for five days! I'm going a bit stir crazy and need my swim.

I often end up with a variety of buttons from the Fair - some purchased,
some awarded. This year's crop from the upper left, moving clockwise:
"Love is Love", 1 of 4 purchased, "I Am MN" won at a labor union trivia contest,
"No Human is Illegal", 2 of 4 purchased, "Super Callous...", 3 of 4 purchased
(I'm very happy with that one), "I Quit in the 2000's", awarded because I quit
smoking cigarettes in 2002, "Save the Boundary Waters - Loon Image", won
with a Minnesota trivia contest, and "Democrats: Cleaning Up Republican
Messes since 1933", purchased and a very excellent sentiment.

I hope all of you had a wonderful end of August and beginning of September. I have lots of photos and experiences to talk about, and of course, tomorrow Project Runway will continue so I'll be posting about that on my Friday and Saturday's posts. It's good to be back! Happy Wednesday to all!
