There are times when being able to get assistance from a magic wand is so very tempting. |
Have you ever wished for magical assistance on occasion? Was there ever a time while you were growing up, or even just earlier this week, when a bit of magic would have been more than welcome? When we dreamed about magical or super powers while we were kids - what if that was actually possible?
Of course, magic requires the proper words, as well as the proper motions with the wand. Muff any part of it up and the magic won't work. |
I admit it would be so nice to be able to lift and move things with greater ease. I also wouldn't mind being able to dust, vacuum and clean windows without the sweat and chemicals. But I'm pretty sure I would be using the magical powers for rather mundane purposes, nothing very earthshaking. It's unfortunate that I can't say that for everyone else in this crazy, mixed-up and hate-filled world that we live in.
Many spells are quite handy, but I'm not really sure what I would do with Petrificus Totalus or Locomotor Mortis. |
I can see a lot of good magnified by magic, but I'm not foolish enough to think that magical powers would be restricted to those who would use them for noble causes or mundane tasks. Evil is as evil does, and "He Who Would Not Be Named" walks this earth in many guises, even today. Fortunately, at least is without magic right now. Given what horrors mankind unleashes upon others with regularity, perhaps the ability to do magic should remain well hidden and unreachable.
Despite the bad things, it would be really fun to go to Ollivanders Wand Shoppe and find that one wand that is destined for me. I think a trip down Diagon Alley could be really bad for my bank account! |
Today's Wednesday, if you couldn't tell from my opening sentence to the blog today. That means housecleaning, laundry, shopping and ... yes ... cleaning up the guest room too. It's up to me - no magic wand required. Have a wonderful day, keep on doing small kindnesses for others, and never give up hope that love will conquer all. *Hugs*
