Gambling - Once Again I'm Not Rich *sigh*

I didn't win the PowerBall jackpot last night, in fact out of two tickets DH purchased, I had one single number that matched the winning sequence. Ah well, no instant millionaire here - LOL. Did you buy a PowerBall ticket yesterday? Are you a winner?

Although one person in Minnesota won $1 million in last
night's drawing, it certainly wasn't me! LOL

I generally don't have a lot of luck in gambling of any sort. If I go to a casino - one of the casinos in the Colorado mining towns that I loved to visit when I was younger, or one of the Indian tribe owned and operated casinos up here in the Frozen Northlands - I generally leave with less money than I arrived with. I might have an enjoyable hour or two or maybe even three. But I don't win - I don't even come close.

Mystic Lake Casino & Resort is one of the first, and I think is still the largest
of the Indian-owned and operated casinos. It's location in the southern suburbs
of the Twin Cities makes it convenient and their no-charge shuttle bus service
also helps bring people through their doors. It is owned and operated by the
Mdewakanton Sioux tribe.

When gambling at one of the Indian casinos, I always look at my losses as a "donation to the tribe". At the Colorado mining town casinos (usually Central City which was a hangout place for me when I was a teenager) I just pack up and move to a different casino - different owner, different games, different vibe and sometimes different luck. That habit of moving on to a different locale isn't a bad thing, just don't do it with husbands/spouses. It can get very expensive and emotionally difficult to do that frequently.

Central City, Colorado is a picturesque mining town originally built
in the mid-1800's. A lot of gold and silver were taken from the hills
here. Located an easy drive west from Denver, Central City, along with
the smaller Black Hawk just east on the road, was the first of
the casino towns. Casino money saved and revived the town,
transforming it into a gambling mecca.

As a reminder, tonight is Project Runway night, with the second design episode in Season 16. Tonight is an "unconventional materials" challenge, and it is back to its' regular time slot, so I won't have to rush through dinner, but I will be sacrificing some sleep to finish the episode.

I had a serious laundry mishap yesterday. I'm hoping I
can get this fixed, but it's not going to be easy.

Finally, as I complete this here-and-there blog for today, I didn't get as much done yesterday as I really wanted to. One bad thing - a skirt in the wash ended up bleeding and coloring two white shirts that I now have to try and get the burgundy red tinge out of. One was DH's shirt that he wears with his kilt. I'm very unhappy about this. I researched how to get the color back out, and it appears I need to use OxiClean (or a similar type of oxiginated bleach) along with detergent in multiple 8-hour soaks until eventually things will (might) be clean once more. Then I can launder the items. What a mess! I hope your Thursday goes smoothly and that any complications that may arise in your schedule are minor. I'll be back on Friday and Saturday with Project Runway thoughts and recap photos.
