Finally a Day Off and Cards...

With my holiday schedule on at work, I work every day except Wednesdays. I finally have a day off and I'm a happy person about that. I have errands to run that will take me all over town, but the weather is actually decent and I've got a full tank of gas. I'm ready to go. I've got to spend some time holiday shopping (not a task that I enjoy), but mostly it will be more mundane - getting more ink for my printer and toilet paper for home. Boring. Sometimes boring can be very good.

I have to buy something nice for my BFF Sharon's holiday
gift. I'd better get that settled quickly - time's a wasting and
her gift needs to be shipped to Denver.

I'm looking at buying a larger hard drive for DH's computer for his holiday gift. When we built his computer in late 2011, solid state drives were relatively new and quite expensive. We put a 120GB into his computer with a large D drive to help with data storage. Well, the C drive is getting overly full and he can't do updates properly any more. I contacted my Computer Guru and prices have fallen drastically. I can get him into a nice solid state drive for reasonable money. Now to settle on a dollar amount, drive capacity and a date to get it done.

The other thing that DH could really use is a new winter
parka. His old one that I bought several years ago at Old Navy
is getting worn and torn.

The other thing I'll be doing today is continuing to work on my Solstice cards. I brought all of my stuff home yesterday so that I could continue the next few steps on them this afternoon. I'm looking forward to getting more done.

I love this vintage photo of a mobile Xmas Post Office with a less
stylized Santa at the back steps. The citation states it is from 1921. I think
it's simply marvelous.

In yesterday's call-out for holiday card addresses, I received responses from the following people. If you don't see your name here and you want one of my cards, message your address to me. I'll do at least one more formal call-out in a week or so. Here's my list so far (from yesterday's call-out) ...
  lindahoyland
  chaotic_binky
  curiouswombat
  aearwen2
  shirebound
  samtyr
  cairistiona7
  ellynn_ithilwen
  alexcat
I also heard from silvertrails and I have up-to-date addresses from a month or so ago for binkas_library and just_ann_now.

I'd love to see some of my newer friends on my mailing list. Don't be shy. Respond to my next call-out for cards or message your land address to me. It gives me great pleasure to share my art with my friends, even if it is for something as silly and light-hearted as a holiday card.

I love mailing my holiday cards throughout the world.

Have a great Wednesday, all and keep sending those addresses...
