Revitalized and Ready to Face the Day Again

My Wednesday was fabulous. Even though my schedule was crazy and topsy-turvey, I still managed to accomplish everything I needed to. It started out badly, though - well, maybe not badly, but it gave me an indication that the day would be goals upturned followed by revised schedules throughout the day.

Changing horses in mid-stream can be a challenge...

Starting with the best - MINIONS! Yes, Chickie and I went to see Despicable Me 2 last night and adored it. We were laughing throughout the movie and want personal minions of our very own. My DH said that a giant, inflatable minion was stolen from in front of a McDonald's restaurant in a nearby town the other day. Yes...I could SO see having my own personal large inflatable minion. If you want a personal one, McDonald's has minions in their Happy Meals for a while and you can get your own Phil or Kenny or Dave. Here's a link to the specific toys available. (US only, sorry!) The next toys will be for Smurfs 2 - I guess we'll be seeing blue for a while :-)

Want a personal minion? Make your way to McDonald's
and order a Happy Meal.

My day started out a bit stumbly though. I realized that one of my headlights was burnt out and dropped by my auto repair people to get a quick replacement put in. Unfortunately my model of PT Cruiser has a bent-pin version of bulb and they didn't have it in stock. They ordered it and I'll get it installed today, but I wasn't super happy driving home at twilight last night with only one headlamp alight. Changing the bulb entails pulling the tire and getting access through the wheel well (silly, I know) so it isn't something that I can do easily for myself. But, by 7:30 am today I'll have a repaired car and I'll be happy (and safe).

After a few years they switched to this style - much
easier to install. But, I have an original model, so mine
is more complicated *sigh* (of course).

I successfully did my laundry, and I even got the grocery shopping done and cooked my chicken breasts. Aearwen and I must have sacrificed to the proper gods because our weekly phone call was uninterrupted (a rarity). I even got a chance to finish the beta work for my German friend and sent it off to her. Now to see if the new Word program's "track changes" mode will cause problems on her end. Getting used to a new computer always affects more people than just the owner/operator.

I've been getting Word set up for my applications, now to
begin the same process with my Xcel and Publisher.

I looked at the printer that I'm considering. I rather like it, but I want to take one more look today before making up my mind. I also pulled my business card document into my dropbox so that I can try to print them on my office printer. If I can do that successfully, I will have more time to make up my mind about a new printer for home. If not, my deadline will be the end of the week.

Congrats to Chris Froome, again in the Yellow. He rode a terrific time
trial - about as perfect as possible against cross winds and head winds.

Le Tour enters its 12th stage today leaving the coast and beginning their journey across central France towards the Alps. Today is a flat stage of 218 km from Fougeres to Tours, and it will be a sprinter's paradise with flowers, bee stings, and crunches at the end. Chris Froome is still in the Yellow after yesterday's time trial. He rode spectacularly, almost beating the time of Tony Martin who holds the world's record in time trial. The ending at Mount Saint-Michel was really something to see. So spectacular. Thanks to the tour organizers for giving us such magnificent eye candy on what would normally be a fairly boring stage.

You've got to love truth in advertising...

Have a totally delightful day!
