Black Beastie is Settling In

My Sunday was quiet and uneventful - the perfect way to spend a day. Le Tour was happily (or...maybe not quite so happily) going up and down and up and down over the Pyrenees, the last hard day before a day off today. My DH wanted to play Lord of the Rings Online with me - the first time we have been able to play together in more than six months. It was a re-education for me. I had to reacquaint myself with how to play my character, but I feel better about her now.  I had really hated playing LOTRO over the past year or so because my response time was horrid and my lag in heavy graphics situations (like battle...hmmm - let's try and keep the character alive!) was more than annoying. So to have a computer that will keep up with me is fantastic.

My Black Beastie has little blue lights and a bulky body type, but
he's just as wicked as this lovely black dragon.

According to my instructions, Dale built me a gaming computer - heavy on the graphics card and interfaces. So after I was finished playing LOTRO I went into the settings and upped the graphics settings in most areas.  Now I'll have to see if things are different when I settle down to play again.

I loved this happy representation of a heat wave. I wish I knew the
artist so that I could give them credit for a very clever pic.

It's been HOT. My friends in California who have had their own heat wave finally managed to send it to us, so it's been in the 90's over the past few days and will continue to be until mid-week. We have a fan set up in the computer room that helps cool us down there, and fans in the living room and bedroom, so it's not horrid, but it's also not fun.  For some weird reason the heat isn't bothering me as much this year as it usually would. Maybe because of my weight loss? Whatever reason, I'm quite pleased that I am not the usual limp pile of goo that I usually am in the really hot days. DH is suffering, though.

On boring days my thoughts turn to Henri. He (and his owners) did a four-part short series for Friskies Cat Food on the boredom of cat food. I pinned Part one above and if you like it, go for the other three parts. There are worse ways to spend part of a boring day than watching Henri.

Heat and boredom seem to be so evident here...

So, it's a boring post today. No earthshaking events, no philosophical rants or raves. But I'm happy - my new computer, Ancalagon the 'Black Beastie', is settling in well and I'm slowly catching up with the peripheral programs and discovering the positives and negatives of my new and updated programs.  By the end of the week things will be even better, so...I'm happy and it's a boring post for today.
