I love the shape of this tree house. Could I live in it? Probably not, but I'd love to visit it. |
So since today is binkaslibrary's birthday and she is building a new house in her native Poland, I looked for a tree house picture to celebrate her birthday. I think I found the perfect one for her, but there were so many interesting ones that I thought I would share some more pics of these special, welcoming homes with all of you today.
This tree house is more elaborate and certainly something that I could live in easily. It's not very high off the ground, but I think I wouldn't worry about flooding in this house. Lightning, however? |
One of the reasons (besides her home-building expeditions) that I wanted to examine tree houses is because so many trees were uprooted in our latest storms. Seeing exposed roots and dying leaves is a sad experience because I love trees and always wanted a tree house. Galadriel's flet might be a bit over the top for me, but I'd sure like to try it out before making my decision - LOL.
I couldn't find a good picture of the exterior for this home. I love the tree trunk in the center of the space - the bark is so beautifully textured. |
Tree houses come in many shapes and sizes and have a lot of different uses, from personal play houses for kids and kids at heart to hotels and, finally, to an amazing restaurant in New Zealand. My last three photos are to introduce you to what used to be called the Yellow Treehouse and is now called the Redwoods Treehouse. It is a restaurant north of Auckland, New Zealand. If you ever travel south to visit Middle Earth, you may want to consider a side trip here.
At dusk it looks totally surreal, perched around the tree like an alien pod. |
At night it is simply magical, allowing the light to shine through with a welcoming gleam. |
Even in full daylight it is a phenomenal structure. What a wonderful place to visit. |
Stay safe, stay dry, and I'll show you more wonderful things tomorrow.
