A Day of Creativity and Dreams of Travel

I love my days off, especially when I get to be creative. I have a repair to do (boring but I need the money), a custom order to create (one more step up on the creativity ladder) and if I have any time left, I started a challenge piece yesterday that looks like it will come together and be a fun piece to submit. There's a lot of work to do on this one so any time I have left can easily find me with a needle in hand while the chicken is roasting in the oven. Yeah - it's going to be a good day!

This is one of the many geysers of Yellowstone National Park. Chickie will
be visiting Yellowstone next month. I've always wanted to go there, but my
parents weren't into the outdoor experience and my travels always took me south
instead of north. Someday I may well just drive out there to experience
the incredible beauty.

It would be an easier day if I had my fancy/dancy Craft Optics glasses in hand already, but I know that grinding lenses takes time and that I can't expect to get these as quickly as I have received the other orders from Bead & Button Show. I'm hoping that I can add some enamel work to the final project mentioned above, but I'll wait for at least a week before lighting my torch and trying some things. I also need to make some color sample strips for the new colors I received last week. One day for studio work just isn't enough, but it's all that I get right now and in a few weeks I won't get that when my Assistant Manager goes on her annual vacation.

I have been to Grand Canyon, but I would love to go again. The range of
amazing colors, the vast depth and the singing of the wind through the mesa
tops is so phenomenal. Yes, Grand Canyon is well worth a visit.

She's going to fun places - places I've never visited but have always wanted to. The US has such phenomenal locations to travel to and I'm not sure if anyone could hit all of them. I decided to put pictures of several of these places as my photos for today since I'm running tight on time but want to share my wanderlust and delight in the beauties of my country with my friends both here and overseas.

Many friends of mine have visited Yosemite National Park in California, but I haven't
had the chance to yet. I've looked at many pictures and it seems like an amazing
place. One of these days, if I travel back to California with some time to build it
in, I'd like to visit Yosemite. Make sure that you look at the second, lower, waterfall
in this picture to bring the heights and the water into greater perspective.

Have a totally glorious day today!
