Unfriend, Writing and Strange Snow

So I got unfriended on LJ yesterday by someone I didn't really have any interactions with for more than a year. Yes, I could read her journal when she posted in it, but I didn't comment because anything I said - positive or negative - was interpreted as being condescending. I have to admit, when the unfriend notification came through I laughed.  There we go - so much for my "rant". Now to continue on with life.

I had several hours to work on my new novel yesterday just to see if the characters would stand on their own and if the plot might work. Some 3000 words into it, I like it. I'm not sure where it is going but I'm willing to take a chance on a time dump with it so instead of sitting in my chair in the coffee shop drinking my coffee, eating my oatmeal and reading my latest book (which has me laughing so much - very funny) I will turn on my laptop, access WriteWay and continue writing on this. I have challenges for May coming through for short stories that will also keep me busy. I fear my small vacation from writing is now over and it's just as well.

So true...

The snow is strange. Ten miles east of me they are dealing with six inches or more of wet, heavy spring snow that is snapping power lines, snarling traffic and breaking trees. But looking outside my window this morning, I saw clear streets and a wet sidewalk. We got nothing. The weather people are exclaiming about the sharp line of demarcation of this storm. I'm just grateful that for once I'm on the right side of the street (so to speak). Now if I can just manage to get through today without flakes I'll have dodged a bullet. I know that several of my friends will be getting this nastiness coming their way so I hope you also manage to escape the really icky snow amounts and the dangers that spring snows can bring.

We're desperate for Spring...

Stay warm, stay safe.
