The snow and wind piled an interesting pattern in the
locked gate that leads to the roof of our business.
The snow piled up on the trees nearby like powdered
sugar, but it still required shoveling and driving
in it was not very fun. *sigh* Winter in Minnesota...
Happy Birthday to Melvil Dewey, born in New York in 1851. Don't know who he is? Don't know what he might have written or composed? Well, many of us deal with his legacy quite often because he is the inventor of the Dewey Decimal System, a system of organization used by many libraries throughout the world. Love his system or hate it, it has helped to standardize the finding and cataloging of books the world over.
Congratulations to the Beekmans, one of two gay couples
on the show this time. They are long-time partners who
argued and celebrated the same as my DH and I would have.
Well won, well deserved.
The Amazing Race season 21 finished last night. I was delighted when the Beekmans managed to pull out the win and succeed in their only successful leg. The Chippendales came in second and Trey and Lexi came in third. The Twins, who were truly hateful people who stole money and really played dirty ended up in fourth. They didn't even deserve to be that high, but it is as it is. I was thrilled with the underdogs ended up winning the entire thing. The money, if they keep level heads about it, will save their farm and enable them to live together again instead of separated in two different locations to make enough money to keep the farm operational. Good for you, Beekmans.
