I'm Almost 12 Hours Late - Sorry, Not Sorry

I had a 9:00 am appointment at the Breast Cancer Clinic, and I was in enough pain that I went there at 8:00 am instead. Shortly after I sat down, who comes in but Claire. She said she had a feeling I would be there early - friends like her are hard to find. So, the two old biddies sat in the corner and chatted until my name was called. My doc - Emily - unwrapped the ACE bandage and was immediately hit with a serious seepage from the wound.

She worked on that - getting as much out of there as possible one squeeze at a time, and finally declared that I was about as gunk-free as possible at this time. Apparently my underarm had decided to develop an abscess - lucky me! I went home with many sterile packets of gauze and instructions to shower as soon as I got home and again tonight, repeating the 2x showers tomorrow. Well, I was so exhausted, I took the new antibiotic, and fell asleep on the living room sofa for 2-3 hours. Then I remembered that I was supposed to shower and continue pushing out whatever I could. So I did, and then I sat down to at least give all of you an update.

I have a whole bunch of new appointments taking up my next few days. Two very early Friday morning which will take me to a far suburb because there was no slot open closer. That's OK. I have to go to that location 2x or more each year for my bone density infusion injections. I let Google Maps tell me where to go and it hasn't failed me yet. Then Monday I'm back with the Doc I saw today for an update look, and Wednesday, I start Radiation Therapy. No time to rest, so I'm going to get a cuppa and rest for a while now. Thanks to all of you for your support. It's been a source of strength for me. Slava Ukraini.
