Fins = Cleaning = Excavating (Archaeology) - What A Crazy Wednesday it Was

Yesterday ended up being a VERY busy day. I shopped at three different grocery stores (and probably still ended up forgetting something or the other, I'm sure). I did my usual three loads of laundry, and of course, I started everything out by my swim - outdoors without such a horrid wind this time.

I have a set of these - Finis Zoomers Gold - that
I purchased several years ago. I never had a chance
to use them a lot, but they're a great short swim
fin. I'll bring them with me today and leave my
longer, larger set of fins at home. These may be
all that I need.

In mid-afternoon I decided I wanted to take a serious hunt for my short swim fins. I'd been using my long fins, but they get painful after a while. They're handy to have - it makes the long length of the pool much more achievable - but my short fins are much more comfortable. I had a vague idea of where they were in my room - I keep my exercise and gym clothes in the far corner. But it would require some excavation.

Sometimes it seems that I need to use one of these
bad boys to excavate the detritus of my life and
my house. But if I clean one area at a time, I've
got a chance of getting things together again. It
takes time I rarely have, though, so it was really
nice to actually accomplish some deep cleaning
yesterday.

Still, it seemed like a good project for me, and I dove in. An hour later I had a huge stack of clothing that didn't fit and that I tossed into today's garbage. A large garbage bag full. I don't want to ever need clothes in those sizes again, so it was time to get rid of them and they weren't in condition for Goodwill. I found one brand new bathing suit, in it's bag with tags attached, that I'm going to take to the gym and leave on the counter for anyone who wants it to have for "Free to a Good Home". I also started a fourth load of laundry going with a bunch of towels and some other odds and ends.

I'm sure everyone has a junk pile somewhere
in their home. Mine tend to grow and have
babies, growing into multi-generational
piles before I get the time to deal with them.
It's like dealing with an archaeological
excavation by the time I get around to cleaning
them out. Good thing I'm a trained
archaeologist, isn't it? LOL

Doesn't everyone have a "cubby" somewhere in their home? A place where you put things because there's no better place to put them. You put things there with the intention of finding the proper home for the items, but that time never actually comes. My cubby in that part of my room has now been cleaned. It's not empty - I wish it was but other places need to be cleaned up before that can happen. Still, it's a vast improvement and one more good step on getting my house back under my control. So Yippee! LOL

It may not have been earth-shaking, but at least I
had a sense of accomplishment after cleaning
my cubby. I have a lot more that needs to be cleaned,
this is only the first step of many, but baby
steps will lead to walking and finally to running.

Have an excellent day. I'm looking forward to my final swim of the week. I might wear my lap counter today - I keep losing count on my laps because they're so long in the outdoor pool. I only need 16 laps for my mile, but if I lose count, I'm not really 100% sure of my distance achieved. It always takes a while to get into the rhythm of a new distance measurement. Enjoy your Thursday and I'll be back tomorrow. Slava Ukraini.
