OMG It Was A Busy Day - A Towel Started Everything Off

Yesterday was hectic, busy, and packed, but also successful with unexpected plusses. All in all, it was a good day off.

Isn't this the most amazing photo of a tornado? I was a
tornado of activity yesterday, going here, there and
everywhere, and still getting four loads of laundry done.
Go Me! LOL

I started by going to the YMCA for swimming. Rosemary, my constant swimming companion for years and years wasn't there, and Ed, our Gate Gargoyle wondered if I had heard anything from her. He said there had been a cancellation in our group, but didn't know anything more than that. Rosemary NEVER misses - even when her husband was dying, she just warned us that if she didn't show up, she was tied up with him and his care. I hope she'll be swimming today, we're all a bit worried. She had been complaining about not feeling well on Monday, hopefully it's just a quick 24-hour bug.

Rosemary is a spitfire. She's barely brushing
five feet tall and 100 pounds soaking wet,
and she's swimming Monday-Friday without
fail as long as the gym is open. She's like
an EverReady Battery Bunny - always on
the go.

After I hung my coat in my locker and was grabbing my pool flip-flops, I realized I had forgotten to pack a towel. In pre-Covid days, that wouldn't have been any big deal - I would have walked to the front desk and asked Ed for a towel. But ... towels are no longer offered. It's a safety and sanitation thing. I put my coat back on and went to the pool to tell Beth, our lifeguard, that Rosemary wasn't going to be there, and that I had to skip swimming because I had forgotten my towel. Beth said she had a towel for me, went into the back rooms of the gym quickly, and returned with a loaner. I told her I'd return it freshly laundered today, and it's in my swim bag right now (along with my regular towel).

In pre-Covid days, the YMCA used to have towels available
for the guests. A large part of the job of the Gate Guardians
would be laundering and folding the towels for the guests.
Now towels aren't available any more, but they still
exist in the back rooms, under lock and key. Beth was kind
enough to get one for me, and I'm returning it freshly
laundered today.

So I was able to get my swim in after all, and had a lane to myself for maybe 20 minutes before Mary arrived and shared my lane with me. Sharing with her is fine - we do it often enough that we're comfortable with each other's styles.

I had a steak defrosted, and decided to stir-fry it with
onion and green pepper over rice noodles for my lunch.
It was VERY tasty. I've learned to trust Primal Kitchen
for tasty products that are WildFit friendly. The
Teriyaki Sauce was lovely.

Then it was off on a busy, busy day of grocery shopping, four loads of laundry, lots of cooking (used my wok to stir fry some steak teriyaki with minced green pepper, fried onion and Primal Kitchen No Soy Teriyaki Sauce - very tasty). I finished the laundry in time to chat with Aearwen, then put chicken into the oven, and finally relaxed a bit after dinner watching "Forged in Fire". All in all, it was a good day with a lot of things accomplished. We'll see how today goes - LOL. Have an excellent Thursday and I'll be back tomorrow. Be kind, help others, and Slava Ukraini.
