Sunday Was Relaxing, Now On To Serious Work For The Week

We had a quiet Sunday. The leaves are still falling, not down enough to rake, so except for watering the transplants in the garden and moaning over the destruction the rabbits have done to our small amount of remaining greenery, DH did very little outside. We spent the day watching football in the afternoon and hockey at night. We had our usual Chipotle for dinner, so dinner for tonight is also taken care of - we always get two meals from one purchase which is a nice deal as well as a tasty one.

I have a Sizzix Bigkick which I've owned for
years. The handle is broken on one side, which
is very inconvenient because it's a bit heavy,
but I don't have to transport it far and it works
beautifully. I'm not buying a different one when
this one works so well. It'll \be working hard
for this year's cards. I've got 200 images
to cut out for the cards.

Today I'm diving back into my holiday cards. Stage 1 is complete and I'm ready to start the cutouts. Each card has four of those, so that's 200 cutouts for the run. I made some decisions on the interiors yesterday and tried a few things. I'll finalize my decisions on those today and print out the next part. Progress - daily progress, that's the key.

I brought my Crop-a-Dile hole punch and
eyelet setter to the shop on Saturday. I'll need
this for final assembly now that I've determined
how I want these to come together. The final
items I need are on their way, and I bought
one last thing at the office supply store
yesterday afternoon. It's all coming together.

I'm dressed and ready for the swimming pool. According to my calendar, today is the 15th swimming day since I returned to the pool. I'm quite pleased, all told. I'm back up to my mile, and working on improving my speed. I still don't have my flip turns and that bugs me. (I may never have them, if I'm truthful - it's something I've been working on now and again since I was a kid). I continue to think about them, but it's putting the thought into action that I'm finding difficult.

When there are only two of us, we don't need to worry
about swimming etiquette. We each have half of the
lane to ourselves. When there are more than two, it
starts getting harder. Circling can work very well if
everyone is on a similar pace, but it's hard if one
person is a lot faster or slower than the others.

On Friday, Meg was there for the 5:00 am session (she's been coming for the 6:00 o'clock group instead, but she takes a 2-hour slot and had to be somewhere at 7:30 am). It was lovely having her in the pool with us again, so Rosemary gave Lane 1 to her and shared Lane 2 with me. It was like old times, having Rosemary and I share a lane. I pace myself by her. She's faster on standard crawl, but I'm faster on breast stroke and back stroke. She's been my inspiration for years, though. She's a spitfire - small, petite, older than I am, and taking no prisoners - LOL.

There is talk that the number of people per lane will be
increased soon. Reservations will still be required, but
the number of people in the pool will increase from 10
to 15. Most of those people will go into the two lanes
that are reserved for water aerobics and exercise folks.
Most people don't like being at the doors at 5:00 am
to swim, so I'm usually safe from having to share
a lane with more than one other person.

So, I'm off to the pool. I hope all of you have a wonderful Monday and I'll be back tomorrow. Please be kind, stay well, and if possible, do a random bit of kindness for a stranger today. We need more kindness in our world.
