I'm Hot,, I'm Cold, and I'm Totally Blaming the Season!

It's that in-between season where it's too "warm" for the heaters to  cycle as frequently and too "cold" to really be without the heat. I was so cold while sleeping last night, I pulled a second blanket over me in the middle of the night. It means Spring is coming, but it's a period of time that I really don't like because setting the heating controls appropriately is a bit of a nightmare.

At this time of the year, it's difficult. We're cold overnight,
but we're warming into warmer temps during the day. The
furnaces don't know what to do with the varying temps.

I have today off, and except for a Zoom call in early afternoon, the only other item on my agenda is ... well ... I haven't really made up my mind yet. I do need to figure out my dinner. I purchased some salmon for dinner when I was at the store on Wednesday. I need a mandolin slicer, and I'm also interested in a spiral cutter. I guess a quick trip to Target might be in the plans. I also need to check out a Mayonnaise at Trader Joe's that was recommended to me, and maybe they'll also have the bacon I've been looking for. I need a few more storage containers for my veggie smoothies, so yes. I guess Target will be an appropriate stop-over for me today. I'll probably do that first thing to open up the rest of my day.

One of the first things we did in the WildFit
program was eliminate refined and hidden
sugars from our diets. Almost all bacon
uses sugar in the curing process. One of the
chefs taking the program posted a recipe with
a no-sugar uncured bacon. I can't find the
brand he was using, but Trader Joe's has
this version. I might give it a try.

This weekend marks the end of my fourth week of WildFit. It's hard to believe it's almost been a month, but I'm still thrilled with the program and I've learned a ton about nutrition and the needs of my own body. We have our ups and downs, but the Tribe is there with arms outstretched to catch any of us if we fall and help us get back to level ground. It's been a wonderful experience and I can hardly wait for the next two months to start on Monday.

I'm going to try a Honey Garlic Salmon
for my dinner tonight. I bought two fillets
of Salmon on Wednesday for cooking
tonight. DH turned down my offer of
one of the fillets, so I'll make them both
and have the leftover on Sunday.

On that note, I feel the need for a hot cup of tea. Have an excellent Friday and please, be kind, stay safe, and wear your mask. I'll be back tomorrow.
