I'm Cooking More, and That's Not a Bad Thing

So I'm loving the nutrition program I signed up for. It's a 13-week program and we're just finishing up week 3 on Sunday. I'm cooking more, and that's a bit of a shock to me. DH isn't thrilled with the program, calls it a "cult", but I'm feeling the benefits and I'm not going to bother arguing with him.

Last night's dinner for myself was salmon with
sauteed mushroom and roasted Brussels
sprouts along with a salad. It was fantastic,
and the best part is I have enough left over
for a second meal of the same tonight.

What I really enjoy about WildFit is the group of people in my "Tribe" who are taking the program along with me. We're an incredibly supportive group of people, always there to lend a hand, pass along a recipe, or encourage someone who's having a difficult time. We're quite literally from all over the world, and last I checked, we numbered almost 400 people. It makes for a very active FaceBook group and we're posting our triumphs and setbacks 24/7. We also have live Zoom calls on Monday and Friday and Q&A sessions with our coaches on Wednesday, so lots of opportunity to interact.

I love the WildFit logo. As an anthropologist, there's
a lot in here that speaks to me. I would love to buy
a t-shirt or two

I can't ever make the Monday Zoom, I'm at work, so I have to catch the recording of it later that day or on Tuesday. I make it a point to sit in on the Friday Zoom call, and to participate if I have a question or comment. There are usually anywhere from 35-50 of us on any Zoom call, and again, from all over the world.

I had managed to avoid Zoom meetings until this
program, but I've been participating ever since.
It's an interesting experience, but I'm enjoying it.
I don't look my best on camera, but I'm unmistakable -
I think I'm the only bald person in the group - LOL.

My refrigerator is filled to bursting with vegetables and some fruit, my kitchen counter is filled with a big bowl of fruit that doesn't need to be chilled, and I'm drinking my daily Alkagizer (DH calls is "Ogre Juice" because it's very green). I quite like the taste of it - basically it's a veggie smoothie The only downside to the whole experience is the cost. The program itself is costly (worth it, but I thought long and hard before deciding to take the plunge). Add to that all of the veggies and fruit I'm buying, several times a week, and I'm looking at double or slightly more over my usual weekly grocery bill. It's a good thing we're getting that stimulus check - LOL.

A classic picture of a stuffed refrigerator. I remember
my mother had a separate refrigerator and freezer in
the Mexico Avenue house. It was the only time she
could truly indulge in her cooking and entertaining
desires, and she adored having an entire upright freezer.

On that note, I'm going to finish my banana, wash my dishes, and head out to work. Have a wonderful Saturday and a great weekend. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead if that's what happens in your area of the world, and please, be kind, stay safe and wear your mask. I'll be back on Monday.
