The Castle Is Being Readied

The announcement we had all been expecting and hadn't wanted, came yesterday afternoon. Beginning at 11:59 pm on Friday, March 27th, my state is entering lock-down. According to the projections and plots that all Governors of all the states have had access to, we could have as many as 70,000 deaths in our state if we don't take aggressive measures. That requires more than "social distancing", that calls for a full-blown lock-down.

The castle is under siege! Here, we see Helm's Deep in
Minecraft, under siege without the darkness and the
rain of the movies. Much nicer to see this way, even
though that's a LOT of orcs and uruks.

So, we'll be good and obedient, although DH isn't taking this well. We'll gather what we can and we will keep trips outside of the house to a minimum. I'll arrange to pick up my business mail at the Post Office two days a week, I'll make sure that the checkbooks come home with me on Friday along with the typewriter (yes, I'm old fashioned that way - at least for the business. I adore electronic banking and bill pay for my personal expenses, however, so I'm not totally living in the stone age). DH will go to the shop on Monday and do the week-end and the month-end books, and we'll hunker down.

The gates aren't being slammed shut quite yet, but
they will soon be down and latecomers won't
be able to enter. Will this stop the plague? Probably
not, but it might slow its progress, and that's
really the goal.

I'm actually hoping to get some stuff done while I have so much time off. I need to continue the serious clean-up we've been working on, I have my owl project that needs two more rows of beads, the end bars and the braided tie, and I have a computer and phone that is and will always be my solace along with tons of e-books, audio books and music. I won't be bored. I'll still be running on the treadmill every morning and posting every day except Sunday too. So no, I won't be bored ... LOL

I'll try to continue to find positives for my posts. Too much doom and gloom means you can't read the black print through the black clouds obscuring the text. Stay well, be safe, I'll be back tomorrow.
