Woman v Machine - Machine 1, Woman 0

So, I'm still having some computer issues, but nothing that will affect my blog, so I'm forging ahead. I did a system restore from mid-January, and I'm ending up having to re-enter a bunch of passwords that I had stored as automatic. That's a bit of a pain. I have a couple of programs that aren't loading properly in my taskbar and I'm figuring out how to handle those, but it'll all come together eventually, I'm sure. In the meantime, it's just going to drive me crazy for a while.

Things are coming together, but not as smoothly as before. I
know I need a new computer, but I really want to hold off
as long as possible. It's money I really don't have.

DH was in a mood yesterday so I took the opportunity to be productive and cleaned off my computer desk. I admit to this being a bit self-serving, I want to work on that owl project I have in mind, and to do that, I need my desk cleared. I also need my sewing straight pins which are in my sewing closet. I'll retrieve those on Wednesday because getting into that closet is difficult right now.

I have lots of sewing pins, but they're all in my sewing closet along
with my fabric and my sewing machine. Right now, the boxes
we're using to bring things over from the shop are blocking
my access. I REFUSE to buy new pins, so I'm going to
have to dig them out on Wednesday.

I'm trying to get the W-2's issued to my staff, and usually do that through the Social Security Administration's Business Services section. EXCEPT they didn't recognize my log-in information. So ... I talked to them a couple of weeks ago and they mailed me a temporary code to get into the site. I used that code on Saturday and it worked. On the second page it asked me to put in a permanent code below the temporary code, then repeat it a second time. I did that, it was accepted, and it pulled me to the next page where I was given lots of red print and kicked off the website, unable to get back. I'll be on the phone with them first thing today when I get into the shop. This is a total cluster!!

I go through the government website because it does the
work for me, you can't make mistakes typing these and my
typewriter can only type one sheet at a time. Still, if I
have to hand type them, I'll take Tuesday and some extra
light for that area and get them done, one page at a time.

Basically, I think in the ongoing war of me and the machine, the machine is now winning and I am totally losing. On that note, I'm plugging in pictures and calling it a day. Argh! Have a wonderful Monday and I'll be back tomorrow.
