Wednesday - Errands Completed and Contemplated

It's now 5:00 am on Wednesday. My first load of laundry is out of the washer and waiting in the dryer for me to get back from my early morning errands before beginning the drying cycle. My "empty" desk (quotes necessary because clean doesn't mean there's nothing on it, it just means that I'm cleaned almost to the desktop and it's a desk I can work at again) awaits me for this afternoon's goal - to start working on my owl project. The W2's were printed and submitted last night and DH can distribute them to the staff today. I need to call in a couple of prescriptions, but generally, my day is rather open.

In the old days, when I worked for a variety of accounting
firms, we used to have to hand-type our W-2's. They had to
be 100% accurate because you were typing multiple
copies. The old IBS Selectric typewriters were the
machine of choice. FABULOUS typewriters! I can't
type with that accuracy any more. Computers have
destroyed my accuracy at a keyboard.

Of course, in order to work on my owl piece, I have to get to my dressmaker's pins which are in my sewing cabinet. That's usually not a problem, but I have empty boxes 2-deep and a folded up table blocking my access. Getting those pins is high priority for me today. Sure, I could go two miles up the road and buy new pins, but that's ridiculous. Why spend money on something I don't need. I have a lot of pins, I just have to put in a few minutes of physical effort to get to them. It's a no-brainer. I'll be moving and replacing boxes later today.

I love beading broad collar necklaces. This one is by Bette Kelley, the
woman who taught me her techniques almost twenty years ago. I learned
so much from her and I have a great time making and wearing these. I want
to make something in this style for my owl piece.

I have the beads and pinboard organized and waiting for me in the craft room. I could work in there, but at this time of the year, it's cold down there in the sub-basement. That coolness is welcome in the summer months, but in the winter? Not so much. I'll work in the computer room. It's still a bit chilly in that room since it's half-buried, but since it's a smaller room, it's a warmer place. And I have my totally lovely new chair to sit in - I'm totally loving my new chair that I asked DH for as my holiday gift. My back has been appreciating it a great deal.

DH wants a new pair of glasses and he's willing to let me order
him some from Zenni. I have all of his information and know
the style he wants, so I'll try to get that going this afternoon
too. That shouldn't be a huge time sink.

So I'm heading out to do my early morning errands and get back as soon as I can to start doing "my thing". Today might very well turn into the first "day off" in a long time where I'm totally looking forward to what I plan to accomplish today. Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll be back tomorrow.
