I'm Trying to Catch Up ... Really ...

I'm trying to catch up. I'm busy wrapping gifts for DH who gets double since his birthday follows Christmas so closely as to make budgeting a nightmare. I'm planning our year-end sale for the shop and how that may work into my own scheduled day off, and I'm trying to get three last holiday cards sent out. (I have three envelopes left, and there were three names I had forgotten, so totally serendipitous.) However, all of that wrapping paper, tape, glittery stuff and scheduling have left reading and comments behind in the dust.

I'm trying to catch up with all of you. Really!

APOLOGIES TO ALL. I'm trying to catch up - really I am. Life should return to its normal level of confusion and mayhem after the new year. Then I can pick up my virtual pen once more, catch up on posts from the past month, and dive into writing once again. I miss it - writing I mean. But I also miss my daily comments on the posts of my friends, reading what they are writing, and generally being a contributing member of a community.

I'm trying to get away from my walls.
This particular sculpture is in Paris, France and is
based on a story by Marcel Ayme about a mild
mannered man who discovers he can walk through walls.

I DON'T MEAN TO WALL MYSELF AWAY FROM YOU. This running in place is temporary. I promise all of you. I'll always have something going on in my life because it's my norm. But I'll carve out the time to be involved with my friends throughout the world once more. I guarantee it.

I live surrounded by books, but having books in e-format now has at
least allowed me to read without increasing the clutter in my house.

Of course, I never planned to fall into a deep pond of a 40-book series. JD Robb's "In Death" series featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her husband, world financier Roarke have totally taken over my life. I'm into book number 35 now, though, and there are only 40 books in the series so far. So these will be finished soon and then I can begin reading the backlog of books I've purchased in the meantime. Thank goodness for e-books. My house would be exploding otherwise.

I'm climbing out, one step at a time. I'll rejoin all of you soon!

Although I feel like I'm running in place, it's really a good place. I'm hanging cards, eating good food, hearing from friends throughout the world, and wrapping up a year with my eye on my goals for next year. It's been a good one and I'm already looking forward to the next one. Have a great Friday, everyone. Get that last-minute stocking stuffer purchased and ready to go.
