Sunday Ramblings

Sunday was a bit of a slow day, just gaining our strength for another round of snow today *sigh*. After breakfast we headed out to pick up the Sunday newspaper and then decided to drop by The Source - Comics and Games. We've shopped at Source for years and years, mostly for metal miniatures that we paint or use for models in our drawing, but also for several years we went to Source every Sunday afternoon for painting club. I loved those Sundays and learned so much from the guys that often attended on technique and shortcuts. Our group fell apart a few years ago and I refused to be the only attendee (along with DH) so I moved on. But I still like to drop by every now and then.

They were still moving in and putting merchandise away
in this photo, but it gives a good idea on the size
of their new location. It totally ROCKS!

About a year ago they took a big chance and moved to a new, larger location that has great parking and a really nice location. It was a gamble and expensive for them, but talking with several of the guys yesterday while we roamed the aisles and picked several new castings to paint, it's a gamble that has paid off very well for them. I'm always happy when a fellow small business takes a chance that pays off for them and hope that things continue to go well.

Blowing snow can make driving extremely
hazardous. It's hard to believe that Spring
will soon be here when we're dealing with
snow yet again...

Driving will be tricky this morning as the next storm comes into our area. Today we'll get between 3"-6" of snow, but it's the wind that will cause problems here today. Many major roads west of us have been closed already because blowing snow has caused blizzard white-out conditions. We won't be closing down the metro area but caution will still be needed.

*sigh*

We have our personal income tax appointment tonight so it will be a late night for us. I took a few hours yesterday to get my paperwork for 2012 into order and boxed up. I'll get folders at the shop and within the next two weeks or so I'll also finish the household budget/expense sheets for the past year/current year. Not my favorite task by any means, but a necessary evil. Eventually I'll get a chance to eat dinner...What a Monday. It's living up to the name - LOL.
