Tears For Innocence Lost

I have wonderful news about Dragonthology, but I'm going to hold off on talking about it until next week. I just can't concentrate on my own good fortune when the parents and relatives of twenty young children and seven adults, are overcome with sorrow tonight. The holiday season will never be the same for any of them. Gifts that had already been purchased will sit unopened. Hopes and dreams that were established the first time that each parent saw their newborn have now been buried in a flood of blood and shattered bone. Lives with potential to change our world have been snuffed out too soon at the hands of one who was not far from childhood himself.

It doesn't matter who or what is assigned blame. What matters is the dead - that they not be forgotten. Hold each name in honor, hug your children a little tighter, and treasure each moment shared with your loved ones, even if those moments degenerate into arguments and tears. My heart bleeds for each and every victim - the murdered as well as the living survivors who will never be able to forget.
