Wednesday's semi-fruitless hunt for ham and miruvor was succeeded in day and time by Friday morning's quick run to a different liquor store and the ham store. The major differences being, (1) the second liquor store actually did have my miruvor (2) the ham store was into the earlier hours and opened at 9:00 am instead of 10:00 am and (3) the outside temp was 9 degrees F with a windchill of -10 degrees F - in other words it was DAMNED COLD. I stood outside in the cold for more than 10 minutes while waiting for the ham company to open their doors. I did that because they open at 9:00 am and I had to be at work by 10:00 am - I was on the clock. So I was cold - very cold. But success - a ham now resides in my refrigerator and my Miruvor is in the cabinet.
Of course, because of my schedule, I only get Christmas Day off which really sucks. But I'll take it. I'll get three days in a row for New Year's and now that we've survived the latest apocalyptic scare...I guess I'll have a New Year to celebrate - LOL.
Those of you who read my blog regularly know that I had a serious ceiling leak in mid-August, leading to a plumber in-house for two days, leading to a replacement water heater and a decision to purchase a new sink to replace one whose fixtures had given up the ghost. OK - long and convoluted, I realize. The salient fact is that I have been without a bathroom sink since mid-August, using the sink in the guest bathroom for months. But we ordered a new sink in a color we felt would work well, it was finally made correctly, we picked it up along with a new faucet and, Thursday, my plumber finally arrived and installed it.
I have sink! It's so pretty, the faucet works like a dream, and I'm so very happy with it. It may be the only holiday gift I get this year and it's a good one. So I'm sharing a pic of my new sink because I'm so pleased!
