I started the month with a lawn full of fallen leaves. They are now fully raked at both homes and continuing to reclaim an eroded bank. We've been filling in a steep bank that was eroding since we moved in twenty-five years ago. The bank has been stabilized and we've increased the soil by more than six feet since then. A good cause for the fallen warriors.
I had my short story, Dragon Seeks a Wife, accepted by a publisher, a contract was sent and signed, and I have now received the first edit back. I can do some line edits of my own and send it back for the second round of editing, but I'm still so happy and amazed that it was accepted to be a part of Dragonthology. And I still like the story, even though I've read it many, many times now. That's a good sign - LOL.
At the beginning of November I was waiting for the clock to pass midnight so that I could start my NaNoWriMo novel, A Face in the Window. I had never written anything of this length or magnitude before and had no idea how it would go, I only knew that I had a limited time frame in which to write 50,000 words. With encouragement from my friends, and companions on my writing journey from other cyber friends who were also writing, we succeeded. It was an amazing journey and the best thing is that I still am continuing the work. I am happy with the storyline and think that there may actually be something worth reading when I finally finish. Yeah - what a wonderful time. Yeah - I'll do it again if I have another good plot to play with.
I love my NookColor, but reading on my phone is so convenient.
I use both, but my phone is always with me.
Between the writing and the shop I read. I read a lot. Although I still adore my Nook, and there are things I can read on it that I really can't read as easily on my phone, my Razr phone has made me very happy because with the Nook software for my phone, I can read easily on it. I've continued pouring through books like there is no tomorrow. I've always been a serious reader and still grab the ability to read while waiting in line at the bank, or the grocery store, or on hold on the phone. Reading on my phone has made that even easier. Bravo for modern technology. If the entire world goes to hell in a handbasket in December, I will at least go down on record that I loved our computerized world while I was able to live in it.
THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS....
