Slamming Metal

So deadlines have passed and I have survived the crest and gone on with my life.  I'm still not happy that I wasn't able to get my class proposals into Bead & Button Show on time, but less than 48 hours to get them together just wasn't enough time.  So, I think I'll have to treat myself since I'm a bit down about not being able to send off my class proposals.  I'm going to head down to the workbench when I get to work and I'll slam out some copper disks to play with torch fired enamel.  If nothing else, the action of grabbing my brass hammer and slamming copper will be cathartic.

There is a Daily Parade at the Minnesota State Fair - Don't you love parades?

The Minnesota State Fair starts on the 26th of the month.  The grounds are getting their last serious go-over, the ticket booths are being pulled out of storage and the list of new fair foods has been published.  My friend Sharon always comes for the Fair and the Renaissance Festival, but this year her Real Life may intervene and her job may keep her from her annual visit!  So...I need everyone to think positive thoughts for her.  We need everything to fall into place so that she can visit us for the Labor Day weekend as usual.  With enough positive thoughts, everything will click and she'll be on a plane on September 2nd.
