Today I'll take a few minutes and drill the hole for the front pull-down on my box. I looked at a lot of cabinet hardware at my local Home Depot, but they didn't have anything that really matched the look I wanted. Then I looked above the display and saw exactly what I wanted, but they were custom order only. I wrote down the information and ordered two of them and they arrived last week. It is perfect! The screw is much too long, so I will cut that down, and I need to drill the appropriate-sized hole for the screw. When I mount that, I can make the final mounting for the panel and that will leave me with the fabric and the copper etchings for the lid. That's where the beadwork will be going, so I'm slowly working my way towards the actual beadwork for Beading For A Cure.
Today I am spotlighting the final project for Beading For A Cure 2010. This item, by Judy Cox, ends an eight-week auction time that, hopefully, has raised $1000's of dollars against colorectal cancer. When I compare what we earn for Beading For A Cure against other fundraising efforts for cancer research, we fall short. We make fantastic items, and we sell them on eBay for low dollars. I have been unhappy with our numbers for a long time. I hope that the change in focus that we will be putting in place for 2011 will allow a change in this. I hope that we will be able to get high dollar, not low dollar.
