Another Week of Creativity

So, I'm focused on getting my box painted this week. I dropped by the fabric store yesterday to try and get the fabric I need for the interior, but I was unable to decide on the exact color I wanted without the beads with me, so I'll add that to Wednesday's list of errands.
Tonight Chickie, Claire and I are going to see "How to Train Your Dragon". I've been looking forward to this movie - it's gotten great reviews, and it features dragons. How much better can it be? Dragons have an evil reputation (at least in European lore) throughout history, and even though they may have never existed in real life, they have permeated cultural iconography and tales throughout the world for centuries. It does make one wonder what may have led mankind to "invent" dragons almost universally throughout different cultures spread across all lands.
And we have a new week of auctions up for bids on Beading For A Cure. This week we have nine wonderful items for auction - six necklaces, a bead embellished tote bag, a dragonfly wall hanging, and a couple of wonderful beaded birds. One of the items was made by my friend, Lora Tobias. Lora died late last year from an aggressive form of breast cancer, and I miss her. She was a fabulous person. I would miss her even more, but I know that she and her beloved, Steve, are once again together and that makes me happy through my sorrow. Today's pictures are by Frieda Bates (top) and Sharon Shepard (bottom).
