"Back! Back, You Demon" (and a Celebration of 1850)

So, it was bound to happen. I wasn't feeling well yesterday and by evening was fighting draining sinuses. I buried myself under three different comforters and quilts along with a long-sleeved shirt and a cozy hoodie and had sporadic 'sleep, sweat, sniffle, cough, repeat' for the night. I'm hoping that this aspect is all I'll get from this illness, but given the way DH is still coughing, I'll have to keep a sharp eye on how I feel, do the usual 'drink plenty of water' routine, and take meds if appropriate. I'm hoping that my usual robust constitution will hold true this time. Goodness knows I don't have the time to entertain illness *sigh*.

I would love a Minnesota Wild hoodie. The
hockey team isn't playing very well, but I love
the logo and colors. Tomorrow is Minnesota
Hockey Day. Guess I'll go into a bit more
detail tomorrow.

In the meanwhile, DH had said he would go to the clinic yesterday. Nope - didn't happen. Now he's making sounds (that have the rhythm of words) about going there today. We'll see. I have little to no faith in him actually seeing someone medically inclined. He'd rather suffer through it (and make everyone else's lives miserable while he's at it). I think I'm going to text our friends about our planned dinner with them tomorrow and have them postpone yet again. It's a shame - the reservations are hard to get at best - but I can't see an evening of enjoyable conversation with DH coughing every three minutes and me adding my snuffling and sneezing to the mix.

We're supposed to be joining friends tomorrow night for an elegant
dinner at Meritage. But if we don't feel better, I think we should
postpone (again). One of these days we're bound to succeed.

Oh, and that 1850 in the title bar? Well, this is post number 1850 in my blog. It's been a long and interesting journey. Lots of specific project-oriented things as well as the achievements and stumbling blocks in my life. I'm rather amazed that I have had the patience to stick with it, but as I've mentioned in the past, I use my blog to just help put my thoughts in order for the day. If you or any other reader(s) are entertained by reading it, so much the better.

These are the Victorian Clark sisters. Obviously I haven't been
entertaining enough for them to read. No smiles, no joy. Actually - rather frightening!

So here are some photos of achievement, because what the heck, it is an achievement even if it is one lone voice in the cyber-wilderness.

What a strange ride it's been...

It's a feeling of accomplishment when you stack them correctly.

Landing that all-important jump correctly is a feeling
of accomplishment.

Writing a blog for 1850 posts - well, it is a small accomplishment. Have a grand Friday!

If you have the flu (temp over 101, sneezing, stomach blah and most importantly your skin hurts) get to a clinic within the first 48 hours for Tamaflu! Steph got it, now I'm on Tamaflu too and I have to travel tomorrow. I hope you both feel better
