Where Did the Time Go?

What amazes me is that we're still married.

I don't recall if I threw my bouquet. I assume I did...

After thirty-five years of arguments and make ups, pulling each other into opposite directions, and disagreeing on many things, you think we would have learned and either changed or split up.

All too often we end up pulling in opposite directions.

But no, we're stubborn and at the base of it all, we actually love each other - a lot. So as frustrating as it is, we're still here, still together, and today we're celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary by going out for a very fancy dinner to a restaurant that neither one of us really wanted to go to.

It's not a bad restaurant, in fact, in comes highly recommended. I think
we'll have a really nice time, although DH has his doubts.

I know, that sounds strange. Why spend money at a place that we don't want to eat at?

Patience and the ability to hold my temper have gone far. Also, I'm
stubborn. Have I mentioned I'm stubborn?

Well, a good friend gave us a $50 gift card for the holidays last year to this restaurant. It's got a very nice menu, but the prices are a bit high and I'm not really sure it will be all that fabulous. But, I did tell them that we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary when I made the reservations yesterday and they said they would treat us right. We'll see...

I hope there will be complimentary champagne at the least, or a dessert.

He decided he was stressing out over the menu and the prices so much that he couldn't sleep. Here it is, 5:15 am and he's hovering - sitting next to me at his computer and checking other places to see what they would charge for a comparable cut of beef. *sigh* It's going to be a long day ...
