Chocolate - Nuf Said!

We had such a fabulous Sunday. The weather was perfect - it was chilly enough to wear my long sweater over my clothing for Renaissance Festival, but the skies were blue and the breeze was soft. It was a truly beautiful day.

Groveland Confectioners is on the opposite side of the
city from me. I suppose that's lucky, all things considered.
But they do sell their amazing chocolate through several
local specialty grocers and just got a contract from Target
to sell there as well. So good!

We wandered around the grounds in our usual route and then went to check out the chocolate. Ummmmmm - chocolate! It was "Wine and Romance" weekend and they always have chocolate as a component of that, so several chocolatieres had set up their goods for sale in the Shepherd's Green. I was delighted that Groveland Confections was again represented. I remembered them from last year when they had sold out of chocolate by mid-afternoon on Sunday and were no longer there when we went back for seconds. We were determined that would not happen this time.

We were really tempted to buy one of their Family Platters. There are
salty dogs and chocolate caramel corn on the left, chocolate covered
pretzel sticks, brittle and bark and haystacks. So good!

We bought several pieces of chocolate in the morning and then went to watch the football game in the Wine Pub. We gave up on the football game after the first half, though. The Vikings were playing really poorly so we went back out into the sunshine to wander some more and buy more chocolate - LOL. DH ate several more very generous pieces of Groveland's selections, I bought a bit more and ate one "Salty Dog peanut cluster" - nom nom - and then we wandered some more.

I think their sea salt caramels are one of my favorites. I allowed myself a
treat last night and had half of one portion. That gives me the other half to eat
today. Oh happy day!

It was getting into the later afternoon and since it is a long L - O - N - G walk to the parking lot, we decided to call it a day and leave. DH fell asleep early - about 8:00 pm or so. I was asleep by 8:30. I was exhausted but happy - my Denver Broncos won their football game and are now 3-0 for the season, and I had chocolate in my refrigerator. What could be better?

Groveland Moo Pies were a big hit with my husband. He
ate at least three while we were sitting in the Green debating
whether or not we should buy more chocolate. He says
they're addicting. I guess he would know - LOL.

Happy Monday to all of you and a Happy Birthday shout out to my friend Linda Hoyland.
