Cash for Clunkers

The government allocated $1 billion for the cash for clunkers program. The money was expected to last until November. It is out of money after one week. We were planning on taking advantage of this program with our 1985 clunker and replace it with a new small truck. Unless things change radically, I guess we won't be getting a new truck after all. That will leave us with a 1985 clunker that barely runs, a 1992 Saturn and a 2001 Cruiser. Well, we will get our documents in order and be ready to jump if the program is re-funded for another period of time.
And I gather that most of the nation is experiencing really terrible weather. I have to go on record here that this summer has been one of the most pleasant summers in Minnesota in my history of living up here. We have not had the abysmal heat that we sometimes get, the humidity has been within reason, the thunderstorms and tornados have been minimal...I'm happy. So, while the rest of the nation suffers with draught, monsoons, or a combination of the two, I'm happy up here in the land of 10,000+ lakes.

What are you planning to do in a creative bend over the weekend to come? Remember that making something doesn't have to be a craft. It can be a fabulous meal, a weeded and straightened garden, or a mended or decorated piece of clothing. So do something to help your creative side this weekend and get your supplies and thoughts together for it today so that you won't be delayed by getting your needed supplies when you would rather be creating.
