I'm running late today - actually slept until my alarm went off at 3:00 am which leaves me barest time to meditate, awaken my brain, write this, and head for the gym. I'm grateful it's not last year - we already had snow by this time last year. This year is a bit more normal - colder weather, but nothing close to snow yet.
I'm very grateful that this year is more normal than last year was. We still haven't had any snow (knock on wood) and our temps are still quite moderate. |
DH's bulbs finally arrived on Tuesday and he'll be working in the garden in the rain today. At least he'll get the box unpacked and figure out what he's got on hand and where in the garden he wants to plant things. We want some root structure before things get too cold, so getting them into the ground ASAP is important.
I was cooking like crazy yesterday. I baked a batch of baked pears with plums - the main sweetener in these is pure maple syrup (I go through a LOT of maple syrup in my cooking). I also made a batch of eight stuffed peppers using the Right Rice as the binder again since that was delicious last time. I baked a pound of bacon, now ready to put onto salads when I want a bit more protein, and I know I baked one more thing, but honestly can't remember what it was. It was a crazy busy day in the kitchen, but it was a fun day. I even pulled out the old food processor to shred some leftover carrot sticks into shreds for my salads.
Today is a work day, of course. And I'll also try to call my Orthodontist and see if I can set up a quick appointment for tomorrow morning. I have one bracket that's shredding my interior cheek, and it's quite annoying and sometimes quite painful. I'd like it looked at since it wasn't doing that before the whole "losing a crown" issue of last week. I do have an appointment on the 1st, but I'd rather not wait in pain for quite that long.
So, I'm out of here, grateful that we don't have snow yet. I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday and I'll be back tomorrow, with a bit more time. Stay well, be kind, Slava Ukraini and חיים למען ישראל.
