It's Going to be a Hot Week/Weekend

Today is my last day at the shop for a while, and I really could use a few more days of prep for Sharon - but, it is what it is. I finally can do without any bandages on the cuts I received last Tuesday night when I fell down the steps during out power outage. That's great, but it also means that today would have been my first day back in the pool, and because it has taken so long to heal and I have Sharon coming on Thursday, I made the decision to skip the pool until after she leaves to return home. That'll be five full days away from swimming. Add on everything I'll be eating at the State Fair in a few days, and they'll be able to roll me back and forth from the water - LOL.

Although I certainly won't look like Violet Beauregarde
from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" fame, I'll
certainly FEEL like her if I eat too much at the State Fair.
It's one of the reasons I go for three days. I don't have to
eat everything I want at once, I can pace myself.

Looking through my e-tickets for the various events, I think I bought one ticket too many for Renaissance Festival. I should check with Chickie - she and Chickie Mama often go once during the latter part of the Fest dates. If she hasn't already bought tickets, I'll give her this one for Chickie Mama's admission.

I ended up purchasing an extra ticket for Renaissance
Festival. It's not the end of the world, so I'll give it
away. I'm offering it to Chickie for Chickie Mama first,
and if she's already bought her tickets, I'll gift it to someone
purchasing tickets at the Fest.

I also realized that I didn't buy a ticket for Chickie's Sunday at the Fair when she usually comes out to wander with all of us. I don't think I was supposed to buy one, but ... I'm not sure. If I need to do that, I'd probably better know now. But, I think she already has her tickets - we bought them REALLY early to get the best price.

Today's shirt is somewhat similar to this, but
about three sizes too big, and in a brilliant
lime green. So ... I guess NOT so similar after
all - LOL.

Today I'm being a bit lazy with my clothing. We're moving on into hot, hot weather for the week ahead, and I'm dressing in light-weight crinkled cottons and gauzy-prints today. The shirt is HUGE on me, but I love the lime green color. I think I'll pay my tailor to take this one in along the body - a straight seam up the sides to join into the oversized sleeves. Of course, I could do this too - I'm more than capable of doing it, but she's inexpensive and does a great job, so I'll let her deal with it. I have another blouse to bring to her which will be much more problematic, so she'll earn her money on that second job.

Yeah. That block of temperatures for Friday,
Saturday, Sunday and Monday ... we'll be in
the outdoors each day and we'll be wilting. There
are buildings at the State Fair that have A/C, and
we'll be careful to stay hydrated, but what originally
had been forecasted to be nice and comfortable, will
now be very hot and sticky. Ugh! It won't be the
first time we'll bake at the State Fair, but we prefer
temps about ten degrees cooler.

Although the original weather forecast was for comfortable temps during Sharon's visit, the revised forecast has us hot, Hot, and HOT throughout her stay. I do have mini swamp coolers, I'll set one up in her room and make sure I have freezer space for the interior filters to freeze properly. Those little coolers are wonderful. DH also said the Eastern windows can be opened, so that might also help keep the heat down a bit. Whatever, it's almost Thursday (when Sharon arrives) and I'm SO looking forward to seeing her. I'll post for the rest of this month, and be on "radio silence" for a few days until I take her back to the airport for her flight back home on Tuesday the 5th. Just warning you! LOL Have an excellent day - Slava Ukraini.
