So it's not even 6:00 am and already my day isn't starting that well. There were a few minor things that made me stutter in my schedule, and then I settled at the computer. I took the extra 15 minutes to get some bills paid and off my TBD list. Then I came to the insurance bill. I stopped, took a second and then a third look. and finally sighed and set it aside. Why? Instead of the $600-$700 monthly payment, the minimum payment listed was over $2000! Although it's unlikely, I'll try to contact them today and find out what the hell is going on. I can shift the money over and pay it, but WTH? I need to sit down with a calculator and a clearer head before I even attempt to speak to a computer or a human being.

I have a feeling I'll end up speaking to a robot if I call the insurance company. Still, I need to find out what's going on with that excessive amount due. ARGH! |
But it wasn't the greatest way to start my day. On the positive note, today is appreciably warmer than yesterday. When I left for the shop yesterday it was -7 F outside. I knew I would have a lot of snow shoveling at the shop, so I dressed very warmly and made sure to bring my balaclava, my snow suit and a set of hand warmers along with me. I was really glad I had remembered all of that because the drift from the snowplows that I had to clear was almost five feet tall and at least that wide. It took an hour of shoveling to get that cleared for my customers who might be foolish enough to park on the main street. (In winter, even though parking is more restricted in our parking lot, we recommend people either park in the lot or on the side street.)
We actually had a nice sales day yesterday. We weren't overly busy, but had just enough customers to keep us hopping for a while, and I was quite happy with the end-of-day totals. The new printer is working really well, so that's a positive too. So there are some good things in my life too - LOL.
Last night's fried tilapia turned out very tasty. It was a bit more blackened than I thought it would be, but I know a good deal of that is because I'm using almond flour instead of standard flour. It tasted wonderful and I'll definitely use that recipe again. DH was even able to find the garlic paste I needed at the local grocer for me, so I had all of the necessary ingredients. Next time I'll turn the heat down even more. The recipe stated medium heat, I think it will cook better with a lower temperature. It might take a bit longer, but that's just fine.
So, as I enter the weekend, all is not lost, but bumps are still there in my road. At least I won't have to shovel today. We're not expecting any more serious snowstorms for the next several days. Yippee! LOL I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get some rest and relaxation in. I'll be back on Monday. Slava Ukraini.
