DH Needs to Get His Butt Into Gear - BAH!

I hope all of you had a lovely Monday, and here we are, ready to jump into Tuesday. Of course, for me, that means the first of my three swimming days, so time is tighter this morning and words are at a premium. It's forcing me to whip my dreams into submission, push them behind me, and start a brave new day.

It's a brave new day. Not a brand new one, a brave new one -
because it requires strength, perseverance and a bit of
stubborn to get through days sometimes. I have errands
first thing today so won't get to holiday cards today.
That doesn't make me happy, but there's little I can
do about it.

Yesterday, a holiday in the USA, was rather disappointing for sales. DH was complaining that he thought we'd be busier, I mumbled under my breath "That's why we should have been out of business two years ago", and just let it ride. *sigh* He sat in the back all day, and after he was finished with the weekly finance books, he did virtually nothing all day. Whoopie! That's SUCH a help getting us closed in eight months. GRRRR

It really pisses me off when he's complaining about how he
doesn't know how he'll get everything done on time to be
out of here by June 30th, and he just sits in the back at
his desk and plays games on his phone or does his
crossword puzzle. GRRRRR.

Still, at least he wasn't in a temper for a change. So I can be grateful for smaller things. He seems to be in a temper far more than not lately, and he's a stubborn and very grumpy old dwarfie, so his tempers come, they move into the neighborhood setting up a household, and it takes a lot to move them away from the cul-de-sac when needed.

Winter weight gain is real, and the hard thing is
keeping it under control. I'm determined. I'm up
three pounds from before the State Fair, but
that's pretty minimal and I am using a new
digital scale. It didn't help not having a functional
digital scale for a bit more than a week.

I'm fighting to keep my "winter weight" off. I'm sure most of you in shifting climates are familiar with winter weight. The body feels the change in temperature and screams "Oh no. It's going to be cold. You won't be able to eat food that you gather any more, so we have to hold onto weight because winter is the season for starvation". Well, that might well have been true generations ago, but rarely follows through in modern times. Food is not hard to gather, and even though the temperatures drop, we have appropriate clothing and heat in our cars and homes to offset the cold. "Bah!" I say "Bah!" to stupid body genetics at this season. I don't need to pack on the fat, I would like to stay lean. So it's a bit of a fight at this time of the year - the changing time from Summer to Fall to Winter.

I'm not going to let winter weight come in and stay
for the season. Nope ... nope! NOT going to
happen.

Have an excellent Tuesday, I'm off to the pool. As always, enjoy your day and I certainly plan to be here tomorrow. Dreamwidth is acting up, and Live Journal is only allowing me to use their new system, so it's anyone's guess how this will appear on your feeds. Slava Ukraini.
