Now that vaccinations are more common and a greater number of people have been vaccinated, I'm feeling more comfortable about tattoo parlors again. So I got in touch with the tattoo artist I want to do my skull tattoo. I wanted to check his schedule and try to get in for a consultation appointment before setting up a firm appointment or two to get my skull tattoo. It's actually the perfect time for this - I won't be swimming for a few more months, and if I need to put off my daily treadmill for a couple of days, it won't be the end of the world. I sent off an email to him this morning asking for an appointment on the 9th of June. Hopefully that will work in with his schedule and I can move this tattoo along.

The scarab I want will be black and white only, but I thought I'd find some wonderful images of the winged scarab to share with all of you today. |
The image I want is of a winged scarab across my skull. If I don't have hair, and I have a wonderfully-shaped head (which many people have told me I have), I'm going to embrace the bald and move ahead with the image I've wanted for almost two years now. Dung beetles in themselves aren't the most romantic images in the world, but in ancient Egyptian artistry, dung beetles are amazing and stunning. They push the sun up over the horizon each day - an achievement that is celebrated through the art of centuries.

Here's another colored version. It can be so beautiful, for a creature that just pushes balls of dung ahead of it in the desert. |
I'm really hoping his schedule will dovetail with mine. He doesn't work on Friday, so any meeting for Friday is out, that leaves Wednesday as our only day of commonality. I'm willing to work with that.
I downloaded and printed our tickets for the State Fair "Kickoff to Summer at the Fair" last night. We'll be there on Sunday, May 30th, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The next group will be allowed into the fairgrounds at 3:30 pm. They are controlling numbers of people and in's and out's vigorously. This will be a great experiment for them - the first time they've allowed strolling people to wander through the Fairgrounds since before the pandemic. I can hardly wait. I'm going to take a final look at the food vendors and menus while I'm at work today, and I'll take a closer look at the map for which area of the Fairgrounds will be open as well. I'm starting to get excited about Sunday.

I'm looking forward to Sunday very much. It's going to be wonderful to be back at the Fairgrounds after more than a year. For any Fair addict, this is a wonderful thing! |
On that note, I have to wrap this up. I'm running late today, no real idea why, but I have to get moving. Have an excellent day and please, be kind and stay safe. I'll be back tomorrow.
