Oh To Be A Time Lord and Skip and Hop Today - A Scrunched Schedule

I started out today thinking, "I have time to do my errands this morning" - mostly consisting of getting lots of green veggies into my refrigerator for the upcoming week. Then I realized I wanted to catch the MindValley live video of Sadhguru (Jaggi Vasudev) at 10:00 am my time, and my "lots" of time compressed into "no time". Of course, I can watch it on my phone, if necessary. Not a bad choice, but I'd much rather watch it on my laptop - more convenient and a larger screen. That means I may need to split my grocery shopping into two runs - one before Sadhguru, and one after. Far from impossible, but a bit frustrating.

Apparently Sadhguru will be offering a class
through MindValley. That is something I
might be very interested in.

The guru's tweet for today: "On this Full Moon
day, Gautama the Buddha got enlightened,
an event that created a big wave of
spirituality all around. Let this be an
inspiration for you to intensify your
spiritual practices."

Occasionally we'll get someone through the shop doors who wants to dump, not shop. Yesterday we had one of those people. Apparently she was cleaning out the house of a relative (I was busy with another customer and didn't have a chance to speak with her directly). She brought in a bin and a large box of leather pieces and scrap for us to have/sell/donate/use, and a real gem (at least for me), an Empisal Mini Instant-Knitting Machine, in it's original box. Looking at it more carefully later on in the afternoon (and after downloading and printing a full manual last night - (yes, those things are archived and available for anyone who needs one), my "new" machine has almost everything it originally held, with the exception of one non-essential part and the clamps to attach it to a table (easily obtained).

Although this isn't my newest find, it is one exactly like
it, just a bit cleaner. My box is a bit more worn. It's a
cute little knitting machine. I'm really looking forward to
cleaning it up and seeing how well it works.

It's a real gem of a knitting machine. A true mini - only 60 needles wide. (My LK-150 has 150 needles, by comparison.) It's all-metal construction, and I probably should take it apart and clean it thoroughly, but it actually looks like it's in pretty good shape. There are people on my knitting machine boards who specialize in cleaning up old equipment, so I'll have to ask for advice from them. It'll be a nice project for the winter months, and in the meantime, I'll try to find space for it in my knitting cabinet (Sewing Cabinet #1, if you recall from the great clean-up). Sixty needles is REALLY tiny, but stripes of knitted fabrics can be joined into larger items - basically, that's what a lot of knitted blankets are.

I'm missing the clamps and I'm totally missing
the fancy hook on the left. I actually have the
"weights" which are rather ridiculous, but also
very vintage. Most importantly, I have all of the
necessary components to be able to make it a
useable machine. What a fun gift to land at my feet.

Finally, I had a lovely email this morning that I'll share with all of you. It was from a Paleo diet group I follow, but it applies beautifully to WildFit too, so I've also passed it along to a WildFit Alumni group I belong to. Here are the 10 Commandments of Paleo (and WildFit).

1 - Thous shalt not eat processed foods.
2 - Honor thy egg, nut and (grass-fed) meats.
3 - Thou shalt refuse refined sugars and grains.
4 - Thou shalt give up gluten.
5 - Remember thy natural sweeteners (raw honey, dates, maple syrup).
6 - Thou shalt bypass beans and legumes - yeas, that means you, peanut butter!
7 - Thou shalt avoid most alcohols. (Non-colored spirits, like vodka and gin, are best).
8 - Honor thy coconut (flour, oil, water, etc.)
9 - Thou shalt vary thy veggies.
10 - Thou shalt not sip sugars.

So, there you have it, the basics of a healthy diet. I do allow coloring in my alcohol since I love my dark rums, but I'm fine with a good white Patron or 1800 tequila too. I'm afraid my Kahlua will only be a rare treat - LOL. Have an excellent Wednesday. I've already got load one in the dryer, so my day is starting out "smoothly". But it can quickly turn into shit hitting the fan - I know how these things can go, LOL. I'll be back tomorrow. Please be well and stay safe.
