It's a day off for me today, and I have my usual noon Zoom call with my WildFit "Tribe". We're wrapping up Week 12 and entering Week 13, the final week of the program. I am amazed, when I look back on myself and that first week of uncertainty. Comparing Week 1 to now, on the threshold of Week 13, I'm astounded at the changes in my life and lifestyle.

I never imagined how much WildFit would change my life, and how positive those changes would be. I'm very grateful that I found out about the program and decided to join it. It's been life-changing. |
I was a sugar addict - not as bad as DH, but still, I liked sweetener in my tea, a small spoonful of sugar on my oatmeal, a sweeter Margarita mix with my tequila, and the occasional cupcake treat from my local bakery. Now, my taste buds have been retrained, and a cherry tomato tastes so sweet! Sweet potatoes are almost too sweet, along with beets. The very idea of a heavily frosted cupcake or a piece of candy makes me shiver and would probably make me sick. It's not that I don't like sweet, it's that I don't like the fact that sugar or sweetener is in ABSOLUTELY everything. For example, I was looking at Heinz No Sugar Added Ketchup at the store on Wednesday and there, in the ingredients list was *Sucralose. Well, I don't know where the company came up with the "no sugar" label, because Sucralose is a sweetener. It's an artificial sweetener, but a sweetener nonetheless. So ... no. That ketchup won't work for me.
Next week we're diving intensely into "Living WildFit". How to deal within a world of large untapped fields of land-mines and pitfalls. It's been a heck of a ride and a wonderful experience. I'll be sorry to see the structured part come to an end. But I have other classes that are competing for my limited time, and I'll be grateful to be able to concentrate on some of them. I need 48-hour days, not 24-hour ones. Maybe I should opt for interplanetary travel. A different planet would offer me a different diurnal cycle - LOL.
On that note, have a wonderful Friday. I hope your day is fulfilling and joyful. I'll be back tomorrow, and until then, please be kind, stay safe, and wear your mask if you feel it's necessary. Since mask restrictions were just lifted in my state, I'm undecided about whether or not to ditch the mask. But it's nice that we're doing well enough to put masks aside. Social distancing, however, is still in effect.
