Short and sweet today because it's a VERY busy day. Again, I couldn't sleep, so I was up before 3:00 am and on the treadmill shortly thereafter. A load of laundry is currently in the washer, and I'm looking up the hours for the grocery store after I finish writing my blog. I have a LOT to do today, and we're under Winter Storm Watch with anywhere from 3-5 inches of snow expected in the next 24 hours, mostly hitting more towards the end of this afternoon into the nighttime. Of course, I'll be at the shop for our holiday gift exchange around 5:00 pm, so I'll get caught in the snow no matter what. Ick!
We're also supposed to get some knarly winds driving the storm into the area, so my trash bins may be in danger. Today is trash day, and I've had my recycling bin blown over before in stiff winds. Once, I just gave up and put it back into the garage to wait 2 weeks for the next pickup. The trash bin is heavier, so I usually don't have problems with that bin. I'm just hoping things will be OK for my trash pickup today.
I'm rather desperate, however. Need things for DH and have to finish sewing the final bit of Chickie's gift. DH has my Candy Cane Pie replica in the freezer, he worked on it most of yesterday, putting the final layer on at 9:00 pm. The whipped cream on top will be a last minute addition. It's been a lot of work, and I'm not sure he'll ever make it again, but it's pretty awesome that he was going to give it a go.
I need to pick up the spices at 10:00 am, and I'd love to be at the grocer's at 6:00 am so that I can get that out of the way, so maybe I'll still be able to do a quick wash and pin for blocking before I have to leave for the shop late this afternoon. Today is run here, run there. I can't wait until my two days off officially start. Oh, and I have to compose and send out the email for our End-of-the-Year Sale. I'll probably do what I did last year - serious savings on everything in the shop. On that note, I'm off and running. Have an excellent day. I'll probably be back to wish all of you a Merry Christmas tomorrow. At least, that's the plan. Be kind, stay safe and please wear a mask.
