Ham and Pie - It Must Be The Winter Holidays

I picked the ham up yesterday morning before going to work. I made sure I was the first person in line so I got in and out quickly, ham in hand. Today it's sharing space in the refrigerator with the prime rib we'll cook on Christmas Day, but for now ... I HAS HAM! and I'm pretty darned happy about that.

I had TWO ham sandwiches for dinner last night. SO
GOOD. I love my Honeybaked Ham. It's a once-a-year
treat.

DH is going to attempt to make a replacement Candy Cane Pie, since Baker's Square no longer has it available this holiday. I suppose I can be grateful that they at least did have their pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. I will miss my Candy Cane pie, though, so he's been looking up recipes. I think he looks at it as a challenge, and if it turns out, I'll be delighted. I'll have to see what happens. All I know is he'll be baking all day today, so I'll try to stay out of his way.

I had to go back to my 2016 blog to find a photo of
Baker's Square Candy Cane Pie, but this is what it
looked like. There's actually a lot of parts to it.
If DH can come close, I'll be delighted.

I'm going to wrap this up - short and sweet today. I want to get an early start to my day. I still have one of Chickie's mittens to sew up and that takes close to an hour of time, and I have some other computer stuff to do before I can get going. Have an excellent day, please stay safe, and wear your mask. I'll be back tomorrow to start one of my busier days.
