I Scored a Bargain & Knitting and Holiday Card Progress

I have a new floor lamp waiting for me at the shop. It was delivered yesterday and since I'm not at the shop on Wednesdays, I'll pick it up today. I have been wanting a second light for my knitting area, there are times I have a very difficult time seeing what I'm working on because my existing light isn't very bright. So, on Black Friday I did a quick web search for a floor lamp that would be minimal and maybe even fold-able. I don't think what I ended up with will fold up, but check it out.

I wanted something quite minimal without a large
footprint, but that would give me excellent light.
I use portable Ott lights for my beading - have for
years, and I use a desk-style Ott light on my computer
desk. I was delighted to score a serious savings on
this floor style.

JoAnn Fabrics had an Ott Light Natural Daylight LED flexible floor lamp, usually almost $100 for 60% off. It also offered free shipping. I had a Discover card credit to apply for $36+, so I bought the lamp, used my credit, and ended up paying approximately $4 for a lamp that costs almost $100. SCORE!!! DH might complain about space being taken up with "more junk" but he'll have to applaud my shopping abilities.

Wild applause follows my actions - LOL. Click

just because I love penguins.

I spent most of yesterday at the knitting machine knitting hats for holiday gifts. I knitted 60 rows on one, realized I had a major mistake that I couldn't fix on the needles, so I pulled it, re-wrapped the yarn, and started it again, with more success. By the time I put my equipment away, I had knitted 2 hats (and the half that pulled apart), so a successful day at the machine. I'll sew the hats up today and they'll be ready for the people I'm giving them to. Next week I'll be doing at least one more hat and then trying a couple of other projects I want to attempt. One thing is for sure - I'm having a hella good time!

I'm thinking maybe a hand-knit scarf to add to some
of the hats I'm making. The hats are the important item,
the scarves would be an extra something. I haven't
made up my mind yet, but it's a possibility. I'm pretty
sure I could do better than this example, though.

I should be folding holiday cards today and getting stamps onto envelopes. They're almost ready to be mailed - I'm estimating they'll be on their way no later than the end of the week. I'll let you know. On that note, I'm wrapping this up. Have a wonderful day. Meanwhile, please be kind, stay safe and wear your mask. I'll be back tomorrow.
