Yesterday I Was House Hunting - Virtually - A LOTRO Update

Housing in Rohan opened up earlier this week (in Lord of the Rings Online) and DH and I were househunting and looking through the two areas of housing intensively. We wanted houses next door to each other, even though there is a lot of space between houses because there are stables and paddocks for horses with every home. Yesterday, just to make things more interesting, DH decided to house hunt while I was at work. Fortunately (or unfortunately) we weren't busy at the shop and I happened to be on my laptop looking at other things.

Eastfold houses are multi level with basement, main floor, and
a small loft area in the tower. The tower I'm talking about, however,
is a completely separate structure. Eastfold properties also have
two paddocks and an open stall-style stable for mounts. It's
Rohan, after all. Houses are like family.

He texted me that he had found the house he wanted in the Eastfold housing area and suggested I buy the one next to it. He said I should take a look at his chosen house, and to be sure to also check out the tower. OMG - his house had a separate tower with a great view. I was totally in love and really wanted it, but he had seen it first, so I let him buy #3 and I purchased #2 just down the road from him.

The Kingstead area is much more open with rolling hills, located
northeast of Edoras. The houses don't have a tower, although they
also have a second story with a nice loft area. They feature a
true barn (white roof to the left) as well as open stalls for horses.
The barn can be furnished, just like the house can. My cave can
also be completely furnished.

Later in the day I explored the Kingstead housing area, south of Eastfold with a lovely view of Edoras. There was a small pond and rushing river there I really wanted to access for fishing (my girls really enjoy fishing in the game). I explored #7 and then looked at #8, falling off the rocks at the edge of the property and getting stuck. When I logged back in (to get unstuck), I turned around and noticed a door in the cliff face. Going through the door, I discovered a large cave that was also part of the property of #8. That settled it for me. If DH could have a tower, then I could have a cave.

The two housing areas are in the squares (Edoras is in the lefthand
river bend between the two areas. The upper area is the Kingstead
area, the lower one is Eastfold. Eastfold is in the mountains,
Kingstead is on the plains. I hadn't planned to buy two houses, but
the areas and floor plans are so different, I got sucked in - LOL.

When he took a break from working on the second part of the woodshed, he texted that he was looking at Kingstead. I told him I wanted to buy #8 and he should buy #7, and that mine had a cave! We purchased our respective properties within the hour. Now he's all grumpy because he thinks the cave would have been more appropriate for a dwarf cave then to be populated by elves. Too bad - he got the tower, I got the cave. Now, I have to furnish TWO houses. This is going to take a while - LOL.

If you play LOTRO and are interested in getting houses nearby, message me and I'll tell you which specific neighborhoods we settled into. We love neighbors. I'm off to find appropriate furniture - LOL. Have a wonderful Friday and please, be kind. I'll be back tomorrow.
