My "Vacation" Starts Today ... Kinda'

I won't be back at work until Tuesday morning, so, I'm on "vacation". But right now I'm looking two serious days of cleaning. The house is actually looking pretty good (some things are behind closed doors because we're still working on them). We've done a LOT, mainly due to DH and his efforts. He worked extremely hard yesterday, mounting the second window blind and a ceiling mounted shop light in the breezeway, cleaning out the lower "attic" storage space, and continuing to work in the library/study. Today I'll be doing the vacuuming, scrubbing the bathrooms thoroughly, and tackling the computer room, along with the usual grocery shopping, laundry, and a PT appointment. Tomorrow I'll continue the process before leaving for the airport to pick Sharon up.

I have a Tronsmart Power Bank for my phone, on
those days when I need to carry and use it a lot for
a long time. When we go to the Fair, I'm usually
taking a lot of pics and texting back and forth with
Chickie and DH. They need to be able to reach
me if something comes up at the shop, so having
my phone charged is essential.

I got my power block charged yesterday so that's ready for the Fair on Friday morning, and my new Broncos backpack is scheduled for delivery today. I can hardly wait to see it and adjust it for comfortable wearing. I've wanted a backpack for the Fair for years, just hadn't found the right one. Now I can pack my rain poncho, jacket, power block and other things and carry them without having to strain my shoulder with a handbag.

I use a canister vacuum - an old Kenmore one
from Sears. It still works fine, and I can get the
bags on Amazon. I chose a canister vs an
upright because my house is stairs - lots and
lots of stairs. Uprights just don't work as well
in a house filled with stairs.

I'm looking at my computer desktop while typing this. Sigh. I really need to do a good clean on that too - my paperwork piles are once again getting ridiculously high. I'm not sure how much I can get done before tomorrow evening, but I've got to try. I'm going to put in my all and do as much as I can. It's important. I actually like a clean house, even though we've spent months making things messy by ripping things out and moving new things in.

I have a lot on my "To Do" list for the next two
days, and our work on getting the house and the
shop merged will continue full speed ahead as soon
as the Fair is over. It'll be nice to have a few days
off, but our work isn't anywhere near done yet.

A lot of the things that DH pulled out of the storage space were boxes of old clothes. We'll go through them after Sharon leaves to see if anything still fits. Both DH and I have lost weight but I don't think our bodies are distributed in quite the same measurements. I probably won't have problems wearing shirts and blouses from years ago, but I'm not sure about pants and jeans. It'll be interesting to try some though, and if the clothes are in good shape, I'll donate them to Goodwill.

So, on that note, I'm off and running. My day starts with a 7:00 am appointment with my Physical Therapist, so I'd better get into gear. Have a great Wednesday and I'll be back tomorrow with a status update. Cleaning tornado, here I come!
