Photo Blog - The Garden At The End of June

My Physical Therapist narrowed things down to a rotater cuff issue that's radiating down the arm. He doesn't think there are any tears or other issues, just muscle problems, so he assigned me a set of exercises to perform daily and I'll see him again in approx two weeks and then again in another two. He said that we need to strengthen the scapular muscles in small, tiny steps, and I'm taking his plan of action very seriously, because I'm tired of pain.

This tiny flower started it all. It's next to me on my right
as I sit on the patio. So delicate.

Next to those tiny pink flowers is this lovely
belled bloom. It's low and sturdy and the rabbits
don't seem to like to eat it.

These small pink striped annuals are one of DH's
favorites. I think he just enjoys their bright colors.

I also got seven boxes of books over to Half-Price Books yesterday afternoon. My entryway is already looking better! The books were old and many weren't in good shape, so I wasn't expecting much. The fact that I actually got $6.50 for my efforts (and got rid of a lot from my bookshelves) made me very happy. Of course more would have been better, but I'll take it.

Here, small moss roses are sticking out of the
rabbit fencing of the side section. The bunnies
don't like the moss roses, so the blooms are
safe. They completely gutted the plants that
were inside before DH put the fencing up, though.

We have pansies to remember my mother-in-law who loved
these flowers. Here's a lovely maroon colored one. We
also have purple.

I'm really bad at remembering what a plant is called, but
I really love the intense color of these little puff balls.

The celosia were a late addition, but they are
thriving, despite limited sun.

I've put a lot of photos of my garden into today's post. I was sitting in the patio area enjoying one of the nicer days of early summer and started taking pics with my phone. Before I knew it, I had a photo blog, so that's what you get today.

I have two different cherry tomato plants in the upper yard, a
grape tomato on the left and the hundreds cherry tomato that
was so successful last year on the right.

I also have one container tomato on the corner
of the patio. This guy has a thick center stem and
has weathered a few storms unscathed so far.

DH says Day Lilies never bloom before the 4th of July,
but these are almost ready. If the deer don't eat them,.
we should have blooms next week.

We have a small private sitting area away from the more public
patio, but it's under one of our larger and older maple trees.
Apparently the tree decided to shed a large branch, right
over the chairs that DH had re-leveled last week.

Have an excellent Thursday, I'm going to upload my photos and wrap this up for the day. Short and sweet and lots of color. I'll be back tomorrow!
