It Was A Red Day

Yesterday was a red day - not because I was angry, in fact it was a rather nice day all things considered - but because of things that went right and went wrong. Chickie spent the day at the State Fair and per our usual agreement, sent photos of all of the food and beverages consumed by her friends and herself. OMG - such a lot of food, but they were three people who shared, and they were there all day, so no faults. It was a LOT of food, though, and we were texting madly back and forth throughout the day and into the evening.

While she was there, they dropped into the Creative Activities building, and there was my necklace - with a Red Ribbon! How fun! I actually won a ribbon at this year's State Fair and I'm quite happy about it. The piece itself looks quite nice in the display. Now to see how the bead colors hold up under multiple days of intense light. Some of the brighter colors - the purple in particular - is a color that might not survive the experience intact. It'll be good to know how it holds up (or not) when I collect the piece after the fair.

When I got home yesterday, I wandered to the upper yard to check my cherry tomato plants. DH planted two of these for me and they have thrived in their protected corner next to the house. I usually harvest one or two tomatoes for my evening salad, but last night I took a careful look, really moving the plants to check the deep interior. ... and discovered ... LOTS of tomatoes to harvest, and lots more that will be coming ripe within a day or two. Yummy. More Red, and an excellent Red indeed.

DH's car is acting up yet again. He promised me that he'll get a new truck next year, and I may drag him into the car dealer's by his ear to get it moving, but it's going to happen! As is it, his car is once again in the shop and he'll be tagging along with me to work today and tomorrow, messing up my morning schedule BIG TIME. There's nothing I can do, and it's really lucky that it was this week and not next, but it still doesn't please me. Makes me "see Red" - LOL. 

A friend at the gym gave me two cucumbers from her garden yesterday morning, so I think I'll pick up a Red onion and make a cucumber salad tonight. Yummy! And on that note, I'm going to plug in some photos and call this a done deal. I hope your Friday is spectacular and I'll return tomorrow.
