Apparently, among other things, I have some dendrites in my eye - mineral depositions. I often buy dendritic stones because they're beautiful. Who knew I had this in my eye as well! LOL |
First, my eye doctor was fabulous. I hadn't seen her before, but she was through, explained things beautifully, and actually said I have a lot of floaters, but that I also had the beginnings of cataracts in that eye and that I shouldn't worry about them yet. She said I would know when I wanted/needed to have something done about them. She found other features in my eyes, and we discussed them, but basically, the goal of an updated prescription and a clean bill of health was met.
Back home, I got going on "Sanitize" loads for DH's linens. He's been sick for almost two weeks now, and I wanted to kill every germ I could. Of course, regular loads take one hour for the wash, but sanitize loads take THREE hours. A major time chunk, and I had TWO of those loads to do. I was looking at a lot of laundry filling up my day. I did, finally, have a chance to get out and do the weekly grocery shop. While out, I decided to find and order a new set of glasses with the new prescription.
I have several custom-made frames that I love. I'll get at least two of those updated with new lenses, but I need an everyday set to wear while sending my fancier sets out for updating. Looking at the sales frames rack at my local optometrist, I found a set that I really liked - they are almost invisible on my face. After adding in my bifocal lenses, it was't as horribly expensive as I had feared. One charge to my credit card, and I was set. I'll have one updated pair of glasses in hand in 10-14 days, then I can deal with getting a couple of my other sets updated too.

Apparently the horrific noise my dryer is making has something to do with the belt and pulley mechanism. That's stuff that's seriously deep in the machine. It's not something I can fix myself. |
The major downer for the day was my dryer, which has been making some really major, loud, squeaking noises. I finally gave up and did some web research and it appears it's a common problem with Samsung dryers, revolving around the belt which for some unfathomable reason is NOT self-lubricating. I'll have to call out a repair person to deal with this. Call me NOT happy. I'll start checking out repair people today and hopefully get someone scheduled in to do the job within a week or two.
Here's hoping your Thursday is less hectic than my Wednesday was. It's rather silly, but I think I'll actually be able to relax more while working at the shop today, than I was able to do yesterday on my "day off". Silly me - silly my life! Happy day to all!
