Met Gala Fashion Because Life Isn't Just Politics

The Met Gala event ushering in their annual fashion exhibit is where the real stars and some great fashion design come out to play. Each year is a theme and this year's theme was "Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age of Technology". As usual, there were dresses that were the equivalent of 'What were they thinking?' to dresses that used modern materials and metals to create some real beauty. I pulled six pieces out of the large group of photos to share with all of you. Here's a fast photo blog of the 2016 Met Gala red carpet.

Aja Naomi King in Prabal Gurung. This was
stunning and a great color for her. I loved this choice.

Beyonce stunned in this form-fitted gown by
Givenchy. I'm not 100% sure about the color, but
the dress is cutting edge and looks great on her.

Ciara chose this stunning gown by H&M. I loved
her hair color for the event too. It's a great look
on her and goes really well with the dress.

Emma Watson was elegant in this black and
white dress with long train by Calvin Kline.
Pure and perfect for her shape and age.

I am NOT a fan of Kylie Jenner, but this look, even
though still with a lot of questionable choices,
really looked lovely on her. The designer
was Balmain.

Zendaya in Michael Kors ends this little
romp through fashion. There are lots of photos
out there of a multitude of gowns and tuxes, but
I thought these six were among the best. There
were a lot of fails too - google Met Gala 2016 to
see more images.

So there you go - fast and in the front. I didn't agree with a lot of the fashion choices made for this year's Met Gala, but these at least were actually quite nice and attractive on the ladies who wore them. Have a great Wednesday. My schedule is a bit insane today, so I'm sluffing around in jeans and a t-shirt. No fashion plate here at all - LOL.
